M:TW campaign crashes

Hi, my name is Chief Thunderhooves, and Medieval Total War is probably my favorite total war game. After losing the disk, I recently bought a new one, hoping to get the same experience. Unfortunately, the game always crashes when I attempt to play one of the campaigns. However, when I attempt to do custom or historical battles, everything works fine. What should I do to get it working!?!

Be more specific, post the system you're running the game on, and someone may be able to help.

MTW has lots of difficulty on more recent systems. I hope you can get the kinks worked out. But if you don't: pick up a cheap, used laptop of 5+ years vintage. That's what I did, so i could ensure years of MTW gameplay. My wife likes that I'm not using the family computer, and it fits the system requirements nicely.
