Which of the two rajput factions is the better? i'm playing as the chuaha rajputs, and they got some beast units (elephants), but so do the panarama? parama? rajputs. and where would the rajputs rank when compared to every other faction?

Hi Willowran, I think its upon the player if he is playing with one of them.
It's Chauhans and Paramaras, not "Chuaha" and "Panarama/Parama".
that would be them... i was thinking purely statistical. I mean, the chauhans have the kishtyra (i'm typing this without the game in fromt of me, and so apolagise in advance for spelling) warriors, whereas the paramaras have extra elephants, i think. Which have access to more powerful units, from a statistical standpoint?

I think the Chauhans are better, what with their Kshatriya on foot and horseback, plus Gandhara Spearmen and Gandhara Axemen. The Paramaras (in 2.02, anyway) have a very hard time getting any useful lancers or heavy infantry, lack any shock troops, and have somewhat inferior spearmen.

The Chauhans get lots of elephants, too, and there are always some elephant mercs available. Also, javelins are Kryptonite to elephants. Exploit this fact ruthlessly.

Kryptonite or not, those javelins can't always save me! As the Ghaznavids I find fighting the Elephants to be quite a challenge, with them any Rajput army can be dangerous. Without them though, Muslim Ghulams and other Cav will eat their infantry alive...

Javelin cavalry are ideal against Elephants but sadly Ghaznavid access to such units is limited (aside from mercs). While its alot harder to beat the tusked ones with foot javelins there is a certain sense of accomplishment ones feels after having conquered all India...I wonder where the Ghazni Shah shall go next...

Yeah I'm sort of in a race with Georgia to see who can carve up the Mongols first. With all of India, Khorasan and much of Iran I'm sitting pretty...the same Elephants that make Rajput armies so unique really give the Ghaznis and Ghorids a potential superweapon against the Mongols
you have done exactly good. leave the mesh of beyond persia nd abbasids to them and prepare for big hits on mongols. meanwhile in spare time, your powerful dynasty can prosper economically and socially. you can spend money to grow ur cities up and you will hold the most progressed and enlightened faction.![]()
they are both equal due to invincible elephants, the thing I hate about the hindu states is that they have alot of interesting units... but because elephants are so strong I only use them (and mounted javelineers to crush enemy pachyderms)
What i find to be the absolute worst thing about the rajputs (im still playing as the chuahan's, and am doing wonderfully), is the logistics. i dunno if im doing something wrong, but i can only actually recruit the Kshatriya units in two settlements, and other rajput units in only a handful more centered around the two. as i currently hold most of the north of the map, and most shore settlements of the south this presents a slight problem. i have to try to ship armies to the frontier via ships, and that takes a while. meanwhile im carving up everyone in my path (mongols and ghurids right now) with my generals (who happen to be riding elephants), supported by light local militia, which sucks
javelins and seige battle or no, three generals held off an entire mongolian army pretty much alone-the local afghan tribesmen (three units maybe?)died reeaaaaally early. ifind elephants to be thrice as unbeatable in a seige then in the open plain.
and i tested the churahan's military agaisnt jerusalem, and decided that the only thing keeping either rajput faction alive must be the elephants. my infantry was massacred. in the end all i had were the shattered remnents of a couple elephant units, and the even more decimated remnants of the Kshatriya cavalry (7 or 8 horsemen left per 4 units) against several half-units of heavy jerusalem infanty. veeeery close. and without the elephants i'd've been crushed.
oh look...post 200. yay.
