    Default Siege weapons

Is there any mod which increase number of siege weapons in unit. I mean default is 2 onagers, scorpions, etc per unit. It would be great if there is any mod where u can have 4 onagers or scorpions per unit...
If there is any, please let me know...Thanx in advance...

Um...I think that all you have to do is go to options and change the unit size to huge or something. However, that also increases the size of normal units, such as infantry and the like.

Nope, that will increase number of men, not siege weapons... It's allways 2... no metter what size of unit u choose in options menu....

Ooh! Ooh! I know that one!

Look in the Descr_Unit file where all the statistcal nonsense hangs out, and take a moment to read through the shpiel at the top which expalains what it all means (for future reference like).

    This bit:
soldier Name of the soldier model to use (from descr_models_battle.txt)
; followed by the number of ordinary soldiers in the unit
; followed by the number of extras (pigs dogs, elephants, chariots artillery pieces etc attached to the unit)
; followed by the collision mass of the men. 1.0 is normal. Only applies to infantry
    is relevant to you.

    Find whichever unit you want to edit (Roman Onager in this example) and simply change the '2' to a '4';

    type roman onager
    dictionary roman_onager ; Onagers
    category siege
    class missile
    voice_type Light_1
    soldier roman_crew, 16, 2, 0.8
    engine onager
    attributes sea_faring, hardy
    formation 1.5, 1.5, 3, 3, 3, square
    stat_health 1, 0
    stat_pri 4, 2, no, 0, 0, melee, simple, piercing, knife, 25 ,1
    stat_pri_attr no
    stat_sec 53, 2, boulder, 300, 30, siege_missile, blade, blunt, none, 25 ,1
    stat_sec_attr ap, bp, area, launching
    stat_pri_armour 7, 3, 0, metal
    stat_sec_armour 0, 0, flesh
    stat_heat 2
    stat_ground 0, 0, 0, 0
    stat_mental 6, normal, highly_trained
    stat_charge_dist 30
    stat_fire_delay 0
    stat_food 60, 300
    stat_cost 1, 830, 120, 90, 130, 830
    ownership romans julii,romans brutii,romans scipii,romans senate
You may want to increase the number of crewmen and ammunition as well.

You know where your descr_unit file is?

Open it, and press ctrl-f to bring up the search function. Type in 'roman onager' (minus apostraphes) and it'll locate the entry in the file. The entry will look like this:

    type roman onager
    dictionary roman_onager ; Onagers
    category siege
    class missile
    voice_type Light_1
    soldier roman_crew, 16, 2, 0.8
    engine onager
    attributes sea_faring, hardy
    formation 1.5, 1.5, 3, 3, 3, square
    stat_health 1, 0
    stat_pri 4, 2, no, 0, 0, melee, simple, piercing, knife, 25 ,1
    stat_pri_attr no
    stat_sec 53, 2, boulder, 300, 30, siege_missile, blade, blunt, none, 25 ,1
    stat_sec_attr ap, bp, area, launching
    stat_pri_armour 7, 3, 0, metal
    stat_sec_armour 0, 0, flesh
    stat_heat 2
    stat_ground 0, 0, 0, 0
    stat_mental 6, normal, highly_trained
    stat_charge_dist 30
    stat_fire_delay 0
    stat_food 60, 300
    stat_cost 1, 830, 120, 90, 130, 830
    ownership romans julii,romans brutii,romans scipii,romans senate
If it doesn't look like that then you're in the wrong file.

All you have to do is count six lines down, to the line that says:

    soldier roman_crew, 16, 2, 0.8
    Now change the 2 to a 4.

Edit: If you're having CTD issues after that, then likely you've made a mistake somewhere in the code. A miss-placed space will kill the game, (I've lost count of the number of times I've had CTDs at start-up because I pressed shift-f instead of ctrl-f when I wanted to find something), so you have to be very careful. If you can't find where you went wrong, replace your compromised file with an original (always keep a back-up).

Follow the instructions above to the letter, and you can't go wrong.

If I do that, will it change only to roman faction or all factions?

The above faction will only affect Onagers for the roman factions. But the process is the same for all the others, you'll just have to change the entry for each one. The Greeks, Carthaginians, Egypians, Dacians, everytone who can deploy Onagers in fact, all have their own entry in Descr_Unit.

As this is not about an actual release I've moved it.

Under the Honoured Patronage of Quintus Maximus Adopted by Valus
    Bestows Patronage upon NobleNick

The superior man, when resting in safety, does not forget that danger may come. When in a state of security he does not forget the possibility of ruin. When all is orderly, he does not forget that disorder may come. Thus his person is not endangered, and his States and all their clans are preserved.

    Sorry Proximus, my mistake...
About that editing... I tried and it doesn't work. I even started a custom battle, stil,l there are 2 onagers per unit
Please can someone create a mod wich increase nuber of siege weapons...
2 siege weapons per unit doesn't make some inpact in a battle... But 4 would have...Imagine 4 onager or scorpion units with 16 weapons...That would have impact on a battle...
Maybe I ask too much...someone please make this mod. I can't, tried, and it doesen't work
