RS2 Won't Autosave, or Save Game

Some time back I reinstalled RTW and Roma Surrectum 2. I played a "Roman" campaign with no problems at all.

HAving reached a oint where continuing was a bit pointless, I decided to start a new campaign, so deleted my saved games from the previous one and started afresh. The game works fine, with one exception. It now no longer "autosaves, or "quick saves" and when I go to the Options menu in-game, "Load Game" and "Save Game" are greyed out and inoperable.

Help, please.

Activate the script every time you start/load your campaign by clicking on a settlement, then on the advisor that pops up.
