He starts out at the beginning of the GC on the "Rose" or something, which is an awesome First Rate, but later in the game the Victory becomes available. Is there a way to transfer the Flag (so to speak) from ship to ship? Does disbanding an admirals ship put that admiral back in the "admiral pool" for selection later? Anyone? Bueller?

Isn't the "Victory" just a generic ship? In fact I remember that there is no such thing as the actual HMS Victory in this game. Baffling to say the least, considering it was in Empire. But one of the pre-order bonuses is HMS Elephant. Whatever they did there I will never understand. So unless you get a ship and rename it to Victory then you are out of luck.

In vanilla, there are no special ship designated HMS Victory. There are an HMS Elephant (3rd Rate) and a Santisima Trinidad (Heavy 1st Rate). Just do as Kinglzzystero suggests and rename the ships he is on, as you can not exchange admirals from ship to ship.

You can also use esf editor to change the type of ship if you want.

You can move admirals from ship to ship, you just have to scuttle the one hrs currently on.

Or you can just rename it "HMS Victory". That is much easier.

Except that that won't work if one is a purist, since HMS Victory did not have 122 guns

It is by far the easiest solution however.

Editing the startpos with esf editor to change the unit for the Victory is not very difficult

Thanks all! I am actually using Toons amazing All-In-One mod which as most of you may know, introduces a lot of new units!
