    Default Time of Completion

    Hello all!
I am curious to ask, under the setting of Very Hard on both settings, how long does it take for you to complete the goal of 55 regions and the required region?

I've been playing as the Knights Templar, and it has been hell battling the Fatimids, the Turks, the Hungarians and the Byzantines. I've reached the stage where I'm caught in a stalemate with the Byzantines, who seem to have an endless stack of men to throw at me, regardless of how many men they lose. Where do they get the birth rate....

I've only got about 40 turns left before the game is up, yet I only have about 30 regions, which I think is rather bad....

I've noticed how some players say they finish the game too quick to enjoy late era units, whenever I see it, I feel a gush of shame that I have been too weak........ Ha....truly, how I envy!!!!!

I want to ask how others complete the game? Do you attack and occupy fairly early on? or steamroll through when you are better equipped?

Do you mean the Crusader States? Or do you have some submod that focuses on the Knights Templar? That seems like it'd be pretty cool.

I read it as meaning any campaign in general. That was how I answered it anyway.

edit: ah also now I see what you mean about the Knights templar / Crusader States - sorry about that.

Historically I'll usually be able to finish a vh/vh game with at least 50-100 turns to spare (I dontuse BGRIV or else I think it would take me longer).

In a lot of cases I think the victory conditions are what you make of them or if you take any notice of them at all, which after being inspired from a GC I saw by Iceclaw, in my Byzie GC I am going to pretty much turtle my way through and not even try to come close to the VC's, keeping my borders closer together and try a play a true game of diplomacy and neighbourly war etc.

I usually call it quits when I reach the victory conditions. At that point I know I'm going to win the game anyway because I can simply spam out professional stacks faster than anyone else. Much like Rome.

Required regions vary by faction but on average playing on VH with BGR IV I'd guess average time to complete victory requirements on a short campaign without aiming right at them (playing the situations as they come not just trying to satisfy victory conditions) is about 125 turns. But it varies by about 50 turns.

For the long campaign I've only completed it three times and probably never will again as at a certain point it feels less a victory than work.
I did have an epic Turk campaign that I played over 300 turns as between multiple Crusades, Mongol invasions, then the Timurs it was never ending series of battles. Portugal long campaign only took me 180 turns while my Genoa long campaign was the one which made me decide not to play them anymore. I think it was less than 300 turns but the final 50 turns was just fighting nearly the same battle 70 times in a row(vs huge Fatimids).

I guess my style would be like Mr. Galain Ironhide! I always play it sort of safe, and usually have one stack in a certain theatre, and creep invade across the map..... Try to play warfare and diplomacy simultaneously, even though unsurprisingly, they backstab me. Annoying Turks...

I must admit though, the Byzantines really can mass produce men, since they seem to have an endless supply of soldiers to throw at me, they've lost ghastly numbers of armies, but they still rebound right back into the game?
They're the main reason, I never got to the mainland of Europe and the Balkans, plus, strange enough, the Timurids spawned and established at Kiev, so now I have a problem of them blackies in the North, and the Million man army in Greece.

I guess it really depends on your faction choice, I remember completing the English Campaign with ease, only difficulty I ever had was to send my army to Jerusalem! Horrible, long boat ride....
Choice of the Templars might have been too challenging to begin with... since they're already in a hostile environment, with a load of enemies, not to mention the stark contrast of religious differences.
