On turn 50 after I took wolfburg from Nurglites, I got a message from a destroyed Ostland to give back their capital. which I would give to them by simply vacating it. On the next turn however once they got it back, it was counted as a hostile action by Ostland to my faction, Wissenland and now the entire empire hates them and I am at war with them. It seems to me that there may have been something missing in the script that gives settlements back to re-emergent factions. Or this may have been affected by saving and reloading on the turn that I got the message from Ostland.
At any rate, I tried fixing it by setting diplomatic stance to allied via console however I can't seem to get it to work and maybe my syntax is wrong, the command I gave was:
diplomatic_stance portugal byzantium allied
which from what I know, is portugal = wissenland and byzantiun = ostland
this doesn't seem to work. what finally worked was removing the "desc_cursor"-something text file to allow my diplomat to talk to them but that still means that they would be neutral to everyone else and would try to eventually go to war with them. So I guess what I need to know is how to reset all the empire factions to allied? and is there a way to avoid going to war with Ostland (or any previously friendly re-emergent faction) while giving them back their territory?
