    Default SPQR 8.0 Egyptians

    Is there any particular reason for mod to have pre-Alexander Egyptian troops in mod? I mean all these chariots, nubian spearmen, etc. Shouldn't be there instead Ptolemaic phalanx or Machimoi Epilektoi?

    SPQR Mod, as I said before here in the forum is amazing ...
    But some things still retains the basic RTW 1.5 or RTW, I believe that some of these innovations have you quoted Hantei and truly make the mod even more realistic and fabulous ...
    Ironically the other mods that have it, without disparage them, missing them all that is in SPQR Mod ..

    Yea its ridiculous that the egyptian are the same as vanilla, where are the phalanx units? why the Mummy Egyptians

    The Marius Reforms must happen for the other factions to unlock some of their high-end units. An AI Rome will not achieve the reforms. SPQR is meant to be massively challenging for Roman players, and meant to be played as the Romans.

    Also keep in mind that there is very LITTLE variety in RTW to begin with, Most of the units at the time were greek thanks to Alexander. I really don't like fighting the same units over and over with just different colors. I think this is what CA made the Eqyptians look older, that and the fact they could do ancient custom battles. I personally LIKE the Eqyptians, but not the yellow gold color which is why I changed to a light blue. Also I added some units that are more period with the Guard units based on a Cleopatra design. I am sure in real life that the Egyptian forces has an Egyptian flair even though they were greek weaponized.

    There are several Greek style factions: Seleucid, Greece, Macedon, Thrace(Partially) , Pontus (partially), Carthage (partially). Who wants to add Egypt to that list? The Barbarians were hard enough to change style with different units, much less fighting phalanx all the time. I went to allot of trouble to help the player fight EACH faction in the game without having one superpower to fight all the time. Any variety is welcome, plus to be honest almost ALL the other mods remove Egypt and replace with greek style units, you have PLENTY of other mods to choose from, why attack mine because I keep them? If you don't like the mod don't play it, if you don't like the units add your own (just dont release it). Whatever floats your boat, but don't expect me to copy the other mods, I have never been one to follow the pack.
