What is the highest moral stat a unit can have
Highest baseline Morale is possessed by the Gaesatae, at 22. IIRC, highest absolute possible is capped - like the other stats - at 63.
I beat back their first attack with ease. Properly employed, E's can be very deadly, deadlier even than P's and Z's, though they're not as lethal as Paula Abdul or Right Said Fred.

so if i want to make a unit elite, 63 would be the moral to put
Is there a difference between having 22 of morale and having, let's say, 23 or above? I mean, in the articular case of the gesatae, which I think they're are a LITTLE overrated (mainly due their 2 hitpoint) which make them DAMN HARD to kill, but then, there's the argument that states that "due the gaesatae are on drugs, they don't have a problem if you chop an arm off their bodies" while may be truth, it is also a fact that biologically speaking, the shock of losing a part of your body result on dead (due the lose of blood, and other causes), so I say, instead of giving gaesatae 2 hit points, why don't give them a boost on their attack and morale? so they kill faster, die faster but don't route, but if 22 of morale is the same as 30 of morale... then it would be futile to tweak the unit, as, in my opinion, they're pretty easy to rout

well im not sure which unit is the Gaesatae, but I created an elite faction, and wanted to make the spartans unable to rout. Id rather they all die, then rout.
here is an interesting question, what enables a unit to rejuvenate soldiers? Is it the general in the unit, or is there a trait?
while chopped off arm is certain lethal factor, some certain ancient psychotic drugs actually did make warriors capable to rip off javelins and arrows from their bodies, and fight even to the point that the same wounds that make other troops allready collapsed is simply shrugged off (note not dead and certainly not stab to the heart or brain though)
berserk-ing fighting style is actually very widespread, from celtic europe, vikings, africa, to north east and south east asia, but indeed, the practicioners, while very respected, are also obviously rare since not everyone had the willpower to control their body in a state of rage without hurting their own friends as well

I also imagine not many of them survived wounds like that, pain or not. Loss of blood and infection later on are probably the reason why not many berserkers survived to old age.
That depends on the traits of the leading character. Ancillaries like "Chirurgeon" or similar give a boost.
The engine itself distributes the healed soldiers on the base of the death of the unit. A unit that suffered casualties at the beginning of battle is highly more likely to heal its troops than an unit that takes only part in the battle near its end.

thats an interesting fact, the earlier the unit takes place the more likely their troops are wounded. However, I was speaking in terms of body guard units. After a battle, they, over a few turns, come back to full strength. Is that a trait or something that goes along with having a general in the unit
so in the edu, its the general_unit trait?
