It was removed as it was TOO MUCH of a bonus, its the only one missing as you noticed, too many players were using it as the ultimate cheat. lol There is a Modding section on TWC, you can find alot of info on modding there. :-)
How was it exploited as a cheat? I don't understand.Originally Posted by lt1956

You gained mass amounts of money. SPQR is about being the underdog, and the Colosus of Rhodes gave you an unfair advantage over the AI.Originally Posted by mercja

it was completly removed. The bonus it gives was kind of broken ^^;
OK I guess I never noticed it, I really never concentrated on Rhodes that much as far as income went.

It added 40% to any overseas trade you did, thats why you don't notice it unless you read the description.

Hard coded, thats why I removed it. Wonders are all hardcoded.

Well I think its a two edged sword, you can really cripple an factions income when u take this bonus away from them, suddenly there income drops and they cant afford their army. However it would really help if is possible to mod all factions to make this a priority target, then controlling it would be fun as u be targeted by all adj factions.
As a matter of interest is it possible to make factions target certain provences?
No it doesnt hurt any factions really except greece since they owned it. No Factions in the game NEED it, hence why it is called a BONUS.
Personally, I dislike the Pharos at Alexandria more than I miss the colossus. Its in the middle of the desert!
(Sorry, but this realy bugged me while I was testing the greek-egypt)

Well i think historically it was, seatrade and furtile delta's where the source of income. Sea trade is very important in africa as there arent as much mineral resources such as in Gaul and such more northern factions.
But i think my city Palma got a mayor income boost from trading with a recently captured carthaginian city. It was running barely adequate, and now it has openend a sea route and its runnign well into several thousands a turn.
Biggbud, show me once when the computer has actually loaded an army onto a boat and taken one of your island provinces. (Sicily excluded)? Now when has Rhodes ever been taken by anyone but a player?
