Default Any tool for detecting an unspecified error on "battle_models.modeldb" file, please?

Hello everybody, this is my question. Is there any tool for detecting errors on "battle_models.modeldb" file when appears the error message "Medieval 2: Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit", please? I have to know this because I can't play the game due to this error message after modifying the "battle_models.modeldb" file and I have no idea where is the problem. Thank you very much in advance.

Also, as a general rule, ALWAYS make a backup copy of your current working battle_models.modeldb file before tinkering with it. Even if it's something you've done a hundred times before, any error on this file will generally crash your game. Usually at start up but not always. I always do this first thing before I open it and the practice has saved me a lot of grief.
