Meh, I don't think Queen would be considered Classical Rock. More of an alternative rock. Great, nonethless.

I, personally, have a very wide spectrum, all the way from Classical music to Metal (Iron maiden, RATM, SOAD). But my favourite is probably Classic rock. (Would the beatles be considered Classic Rock?)And Queen, along with foreign music.

WHat I can't stand is rap and country.

They also incorporate pop and stuff, but when I label classic rock I think of two things:

1. Rock
2. Classic

So it's not really the correct way (more of a fundamental way, if anything ), but meh.

(Don't like SOAD much though)

Rap/HipHop (sometimes Gangsta rap, but most of it is ********)....I listen to music by (members of) the Dungeon Family almost all day

I like Romanticism-era music, mostly German and American volkslieder, and two Russian Imperial patriotic songs.
Also, modern orchestral music, in the form of Film and Television theme songs- my most favorite of them being, of course, "The Imperial March" (Hail Palpatine). Also, vidogame theme songs interest me greatly, for example Halo's and Halo 2's soundtracks.

Rap and hip-hop, I can stand and I can play videogames to (GTA!)

Rock, for the most part, annoys me. It is too ****ing loud. Turn it down, ya crazy whippersnappers. I can stand some of the old stuff from the 1950s and 1960s.

I cannot stand country music. It makes to hit people with golf clubs. In the face.
However, I do enjoy Bluegrass, which I consider seperate from country.

Loud is good if the song is good.

Rock (nearly all of it) and Country for me...

The only type of music I hate is rap, which is sadly loved by my little brother.

Rap, Farnan, is not music.... its the thing you get before civilisations develope music or after they leave it behind...

Rap is music. Hear the sounds? Hear the people singin'? That's music. It may not be as tangly and whatever as Bach or Beethoven, but it is music.

Music is about more than people singing and "sounds"... rap is cacophony and rape of the aural organs.

You say that because you can't identify with it and you haven't grown up aorund it. I've noticed people tend to like music more if they have an identifying value with it. Most people don't have any of that with rap.

Edit: People can (and do) say the same exact thing about hardcore heavy metal.

My main love goes to Sigur Ros, ive seen them in concert and all i can say is WOW, there is not much music i dont like apart from opera.

Boards of Canada are in same genre as Sigur Ros but not nearly as good but still worth a listen, i hate songs that are obviously crap but are still in the top 5 for like a month, i believe crap lyrics can spoil good music. Massive Attack, Tupac and Carl Cox are in my fav list aswell.

True, but rap is by now so intertwined with African-American culture, that saying rap is bad is tantamount to saying that black is bad. Now, this isn't always the case, but usually it is, because most of the people I see speaking out against rap are WASPs.

Not really. Music is just sound that is made to follow a sort-of pattern.

Huh? So I don't like Rap so I am racist? That's the same as saying if you don't like Rock you must be racist against white people and if you don't like Arabic music you must hate Arabs...

To be truthful I'm less than half Anglo-Saxon, the rest is mostly French (which would be a combination of Gaelic and Frankish), German and Irish with some American Indian and Welsh mixed in...
