    i confess it freely; i watch Pan-Am;
and it's surprisingly not that bad, especially with the talents of Christina Ricci and that guy from Scrubs season 9.
Sure they give an idealised view of the 60s (plus they're hitching the mad men bandwagon) and the actors are unrealistically good looking but it's a pretty decent show:

yeah hippies are alluded to in these 60s shows; especially in Mad Men where Don Draper gets with a hippie chick.

i kinda laughed at Pan-Am's depiction of Jakarta, it looked like nothing i'd experienced lol

That's what I hate in Hollywood. Narrow depiction of everything.

    Pan-am wasn't bad and it's a good show.
Everything has its beginnings, but it doesn't start at one. It starts long before that- in chaos. The world is born from zero. The moment the world becomes one, is the moment the world springs to life. One becomes two, two becomes ten, ten becomes one hundred. Taking it all back to one solves nothing. So long as zero remains, one will eventually grow to one hundred again. - Big Boss

well it's certainly tapping into the American nostalgia; everyone in the film is highly idealised in terms of appearance. Even the captain looks like a Calvin Klein model.

Except for pilots, the crew (at least females) were expected to be models during that time period. The airlines wanted to make the cabins look like the playboy mansion when it came to how skimpy the uniforms for the ladies were so seeing a Barbie look-a-like isn't all that far off from what it was really like.

i wouldn't miss the comfort of modern day flying lol; even economy class in most planes give u private screens for the long haul flights.
can u say the same for flying back in the 60s?

i remember when all the sections in the cabin all had one television and it was usually a battle of the wills amongst passengers trying to fight over which channel to view.

if there's a good thing to be had from more competition in airflight, it's that comfort has taken a priority even in economy class lol

If you're interested in a show just because you're horny, may I suggest one of the thousands completely free porn sites? It's a chick show.

it is indeed a chicks show, as are most TV sitcoms/tv series these days

it's more like a postcard from the 60s, kinda like Man Men

If there isn't a Frank Abagnale cameo, I'm not watching.
As a teenager, I was taken to various houses and flats above takeaways in the north of England, to be beaten, tortured and raped over 100 times. I was called a “white slag” and “white ****” as they beat me.

I'll wait for the second season to watch the first season. Just like I do with every show. If it has a second season the first season was probably worth checking out.

Even for shows people raved about like House, Breaking Bad, and Mad Men and such. Though I watch comedies from the start I usually let dramas mellow out a bit.
