    Default Not using Game Spy

    I was told by one of my neighbors who plays the Total War games that Game Spy slowed down his computer a lot so that`s why he does not play online. I was going to install Game Spy anyway when I heard that you can use different software to play online. If so, which ones would you recommend? Also, if I am using a different program can I still play against my friends who are using Game Spy?

    Some players use Hamachi. It's possible to set up a free acocunt that can have a 'virtual server' that can run up to 15 free accounts. The downside is you need to be told what the server name is and the password (if there is one).
