    Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering if anybody knowns of somesort of strategy guide for BC2.3, especially when it comes to AOR, balancing your budget and what to build in general. Also for a beginner, what a good civ to play as?

    Thanks!

PS. What submods do you guys play with, that you think are essential to improve the game?

The easiest to play by my opinion are as follows:

    egypt
    Yemen
    Kypchak
    Georgia
    Roman Empire
    Ghurids
    Khwarezimd
    Seljuks
    Koj

so if ur a beginner, egypt will provide u with a good intro to all kinds of units ( a very good mix) and economy. The kypchak and Yemen are isolated, therefore easy to expand. Georgia is overpowered and so is Koj which is good. The Roman Empire starts a bit rough, but if played well u can conquer the middle east in no time.

    Hi The Turk,
If you're searching for the easiest faction in my opinion, it'll be without doubt the Abbasid Caliphate : they have a great starting position with wealthy settlements, few enemies to dual with and a good units.
Now strategy: as Abbasid take two rebel settlements (using your heavy cavalry and your faction heir: just charging the infantry) then send a diplomat to the Seljuk of Iraq make alliance with me (giving castle as it'll take you infinite time to upgrade them to citadel and will make the deal good enough to the Seljuk to accept then when they are ready to be upgrade just buy them back)then make alliance with the Seljuk of Rum and Ayyubid. Now you are ready to go, just disband all your military unit and build your economy. After a few turn you'll be the richest faction, I remember once I have reach more then 4,000,000 and of course no faction could stop you.

medhma: You can also just completely bumrush the Seljuks of Iraq and THEN disband your units. Free to expand without any sort of opposition.

Big man, pig man, ha ha, charade you are
You well heeled big wheel, ha ha, charade you are
And when your hand is on your heart
    You're nearly a good laugh
    Almost a joker
With your head down in the pig bin
    Saying "keep on digging"
Pig stain on your fat chin
What do you hope to find?
When you're down in the pig mine
    You're nearly a laugh
    You're nearly a laugh
    But you're really a cry.

See Dash, I'm a very peaceful man so I don't like to have to fight the Georgians that why I keep the Seljuk to be sure that I won't be stabbed in the back and I keep showering them with money to insure their loyalties and their existence.

Thank You for your advice Medhma and Harith! I think I'll start off a campaign as the Abbasids now!
But are there no formal strategy guides, like the ones for each faction in Stainless Steel?

not really, just be careful of the yemenis to the south, georgians to the north and koj to the west.

I have a campaign for the abbasid, almost conquered anatolia and most of the middle east. I used the strategy of employing mostly cavalry army and expanding quickly to northern territories as well as eliminating the yemenis and sieze their cities because even though they are hard to maintain, they pay off at the end. each now produces minimum 30000 florins

Wudang more thoughtfully linked you so you can read about it and the large amount of work rusnmat put into the submod.

But in short, for me, the highlights are:
Fixed missing recruitment for several missing units from Kipchak, KoJ rosters.
Made workaround for bugged swordsmen, correcting the balance of the game (without addressing the animations).
More complex building pros and cons
Player buildable, perma stone forts (for extremely high cost, but you have the option now of raising a small castle anywhere you deem necessary)
and perhaps most important, realistic recruitment.... multi-turn recruitment for elites and others, along with other tweaks completely prevents large scale stack spam.

Ok, thanks Dago! I got it, and your right, it does make the game a lot better! I hope this will be included in BC3.0!
