i think it is important for democracies to have elections once in a while.
I am supportive to elections in general. I have heart the animal rights party was only able to nominate five candidates. Joke aside. I think they vote for both chambers of parliament.

They do.
Both the Nationalrat and the Ständerat are being voted for.
With the recent Franken-crisis, when Euros and Frankens were 1:1 at one time and the Nationalbanks decision to enforce at least a 1 (Euo):1,2 (Franken), which effectively made Switzerland part of the Euro-Zone, the relations between the EU and CH are a focal point.
Another point is the number of foreigners in the country. Many think 22 percent (that is better than 1 in 5) is way too much, but what the hell, I am one of them and I would not have come if a native could fill my position, or even if I had found a job at home. I am generating swiss wealth every day and I don´t want to be painted as a Kinderschreck for that.
Still I can understand that fear of becoming a stranger in their own country, hearing a lot of portuguese and italian and most insidious - my own german, which displaces the schwyzerdütsch language on construction sites.
But well - when has fear helped with anything?
It's a trap; it's easier to monitor cash flows through one national banking system, then one going through some obscure country or informal channels.
@thorn: What money exactly are you speaking about?
@condottiere: Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
For the CIA and America, they keep tabs on any large movements from, say some Middle Eastern country, to an obscure account (or a series of small transactions that amount to a large sum), which is easier than picking up and waterboarding Lebanese and Iranian money changers.
This election shall have profound consequences for the world.
You forgot to mention the Jew gold.
and the nazi gold

As long as they don't vote for the socialists they will be fine. If they do they will shoot themselves in thefoothead.
Miss me yet?
These fine gentlemen's have thanks to their consistent idiotic posts have earned their place on my ignore list: mrmouth, The Illusionist, motiv-8, mongrel, azoth, thorn777 and elfdude. If you want to join their honourable rank you just have to post idiotic posts and you will get there in no time.

I'd argue about the contrary, but you seem to have no knowledge whatsoever about Switzerland or its political system. Grammar is also wrong. Simply put, Switzerland owes much to foreigners, who add wealth to the society; not to mention that without them, Swiss demographics would be pathetic.
Under the noble patronage of Jimkatalanos
"The cheapest form of pride however is national pride. For it reveals in the one thus afflicted the lack of individual qualities of which he could be proud, while he would not otherwise reach for what he shares with so many millions. He who possesses significant personal merits will rather recognise the defects of his own nation, as he has them constantly before his eyes, most clearly. But that poor blighter who has nothing in the world of which he can be proud, latches onto the last means of being proud, the nation to which he belongs to. Thus he recovers and is now in gratitude ready to defend with hands and feet all errors and follies which are its own."-- Arthur Schopenhauer
dodnt hey ususally vote for the populist right party? svp is it?
