    Default Kidarite names

So it seems (and this was the case for the Sarmatians/Roxolani in vanilla BI) that the Kidarite names are mostly Armenian, Hurrian, and Urartian (e.g. Kudurmabug, Ara, Madyes, etc.) along with some Scythian names.

Would it possible to change these in the next version of SAI?

The faction leader, would of course be Grumbates, who is mentioned as the King of the Chionitae by Ammianus.

    Kidarite/Chionitae/Hepthalite/Huna names:

    Grumbates
Kunchas/Akhshunwar/Khush-nawaz (these are variations of the same name from different sources)
    Kidara
    Goboziko
    Khingila
    Toramana
    Mihirakula
    Nezak
    Napki Malka

If one wishes to assume a connection with the Juan Juan and the Avars, more names are available:

    Juan Juan (Rouran)

    Mùgǔlǘ
    Chēlùhuì
    Tǔnúgūi
    Bátí
    Dìsùyuán
    Pǐhóubá
    Màngētí
    Héduōhàn

These are 4th century Juan Juan names. The list is pretty much from Wikipedia, so I understand if it's regarded as suspect. Wikipedia has Juan Juan rulers from the 4th through 6th century.

    Avar

    Kandik
    Zabergan
    Bayan

Hopefully this is more helpful than mere nit-picking.

Incidentally, whoever, is the Kidarite faction heir in the 355 campaign should not reappear at all in the 361 or 365 campaign since Ammianus explicitly states that he was killed at Amida in 359.

IMHO, a general problem is that the Kidarites appeared after Shapur II`s death. In the era of the game there were "only" the Chionitae nomad tribes.

Yes, the identity of these people is really nebulous. Are they Kushan successors? Are they northern nomads who adopted the Hyon/Xyon prestige name? Are they the same as the Hephthalites? Were they connected to the Juan Juan/Rouran and later the Avars? It's as if our accounts of the Greeks and Romans and other contemporary Mediterranean people were so muddled that we were unable to distinguish whether they were the same people or not.
