Ever seen computer abandoning a town?

Just wondering if anyone else seen this before. I was sieging the Pontus capital to the west. Pontus decided to abandon the town of Mazaka altogether, and send all troops in it to reinforce the capital. Its not a totally useless town neither. It got a few thousand people in it. My cavalry simply walked in and captured it.

I see. So they do it when they need to. I guess they were programmed to bring everything forward when defending the capital.

Ya it is. Julii has been pretty weak throughout the whole game and have a very hard time fighting Gaul. At one point I was worry that they would collapse, with Gauls sieging their towns. Brutii also expanded slowly but they got a very strong economy going. Eventually they beat the Gauls and took over multiple lands of theirs.

Now they probably need to deal with the powerful Macedonians before anything else.
