Default Military Reform (VOTE ON THIS ONE, NOT THE OLD ONE!)

Okay, basically, here's the deal. We can use the system DS and I want, where there are no rolls and casualties are decided by a mod after players give strategies, or we can use the system Jakev wants, where there is a roll to determine the success of the attack. I'll give pros and cons.

    Mine:
    Pros:
Battles are easier to moderate, only takes a quick post
Players get to control their own strategy
One mod can run several battles at once
A battle isn't a massive block of time commitment, it's spread out over several 5-10 minute periods.
    Cons:
    Battles can take days
Players will whine about the mod being biased

    Jakev's:
    Pros:
    Battles only take a day
"The Old Way" - Jakev and Cooki like it
Mods can be total idiots and do it well
    Minimum RP required
Mod can figure out how it's going to go from the start
    Cons:
Takes 1/2 hour to 2 hours to do, 3 for big battles
Mod intensive, must do one thing for a long time
Players have no say in strategy, mods come up with it
Players like Sid can't whine when they lose.

It is difficult, battles that take a long time tend to ruin these games but I believe that the inability to make any strategies will do the same thing. I think I will go vote for speed as long as the mods do not make silly decisions with strategies.

"Me? Ruin? I'm not the ruiner, I'm the ruinee! Or is it ruinness? Ruinette?"
"She's ahead of the litter all right. The pick of the litter. The cat's pajamas. Oh wait. Why would Applejack take some poor kitty's pj's? That's not very sporting of her."
"More balloons! No, that's too many balloons. More candy! No, less candy. Ooh! I know! Streamers!"
"Oh my gosh. Hold on to your hooves – I am just about to be brilliant!"

Martin, you voted for the one that doesn't allow player strategies.

Which is what I wanted to go for.

Okay, just your post made it seem as though you thought not allwoing strategies would kill the game. Regardless, okay then.

It probably will but from what I saw the long waiting times for battles definitely ends Alliance Games. I will take possibly over very likely any day.

True, but with my system many battles can be done at once, and once this poll is over I'm going to start modding battles.

I would make a few amemndments to that -

    1. Battles will actually take about 20 mins, assuming no RP from the mod. However, mods generally make the battle epic with good RP, so it can take up to 2 hour4s

    2. Players have an INITIAL say in strategy, if they want to, and the mod will take that into account. However, they cannot adapt their strategy as the battle progresses - that is down to the mod.

What Jakev said, though I still think the players should be able to strategize.
