    Masters of Kuji-kiri
    Kuji-kiri is an esoteric practice which, when performed with an array of hand "seals" (kuji-in), was meant to allow the warrior to enact superhuman feats.




    Ever want to beat the game on legendary but found it much too difficult? Each unit is essentially immortal, with the exception of being bombarded with a copious amount of explosives, these units will not die, not one.

    Information:

    Disclaimer: I did not intend these units to obey any sort of realism, have any intention of being balanced or fair to the AI. If you enjoy a balanced fight, do not use this mod. This is in a very practical sense a cheat mod.

    Credit: I wanted to credit the Portraits mod for supplying me with images, but that post seems to have disappeared and I do not recall who created it. Of course I credit this awesome modding community for making it very easy.

    Legal: As far as I can tell it's perfectly legal to use textures from DLC's as they are readily available to everyone. I am essentially just pointing to their location already in place from CA. I did not use any other DLC resource.






    WIP:
    • I am still trying to figure out a method to allow my ninja units to fire while moving, preferably while running. I also would like them to act more independently (e.g. Throw daggers as individuals’ vs group formation).
    • Also included in this pack is a unique "elite" version of the Black Ship recruitable from any port.
    • Will tweak units to be more unique (right now it's mostly cosmetic).
    • Need to script in AI recruit restriction, so you don't have to modify exclusive properties or have me create a version for each faction.
    • Need to further differentiate between Defensive Group and Offensive Group, Immune to Attrition is pretty much the only difference, as well as recruit limit restrictions.
    • This will also include an optional over powered ancillary mod.
    • Need to test more, not sure if it causes crashes.
    Wishes:
    • Script to automatically re-load faction Daimyo bodyguard with custom bodyguard. Right now it requires ESF editing which I'm not sure is entirely stable.
    • Female General Unit that can be adopted, but does not marry.
    • a Flying Animation!

    considering the number of PM's I've gotten for every clan, I'm posting the unit pack, minus the ancillary pack (until I work out the acheivement issue). This is the default uesugi clan.

    - All you need to do to use it for you prefered clan is to open the pack with PFM and change the clan name for each unit in the unit_to_exlcusive_faction_permissions table to whatever clan you want.

    NOTE: if you want it for Hattori I believe you have to change it to iga_ninja, though since I don't have use of the clan, I can not say for sure.

    Kuji kiri

    - I have a number of things I'm going to change, attempt to change with this, but this will give you a taste.


    UPDATE 11/7/11: I will be adding 3 additional general options and altering the existing general infantry to use the fake crossbow I rigged. The additional general recruit options will be for a Infantry Rocket General, a Mounted Katana General, and a female Infantry General Katana + Sling. The female general will be an ongoing project as I hope to eventually have the game treat her like a her (restricted from marriage, custom ancillaries/traits).

    Also, I am considering changing the Geisha Ninja unit's uniform and created a poll to get feedback.

    I should have it done tonight, with an optional pack to excessively boast moral for vanilla units (for Heroic Victories). I was getting a huge amount of crashes and I wanted to make sure it wasn't the mod causing it.

    I haven't been able to get infantry to fire while moving, there just doesn't seem to be a way to do it, lacks animation. I'm going to test the script to automatically asign units to player faction but beside that, everything is good.

    LOL, sorry those are wishes. The female adoption would require luac editing which no one can do at this point and the only way I can think of doing a flying animation would be to somehow include the animation for say...Fire Bombs into the units animation and I'm pretty sure that isn't doable and might look like crap, but that isn't going to stop me from trying it...eventually.

    Shogun 2 modding is absurdly dependent on multiple tables, they actually have redundant values to do the same thing.

    hey guys, sorry for not releasing this last night, I'm trying to add an effect to the custom ancillaries that will decrease build time by 99%. I had it working but it's buggy and I need to work on it some more.

    I figured having 1 turn research and build time would be very attractive to some people.

    Initially you'll probably have to edit the exclusive_faction_permission table to whatever faction you want the units for, but I'm working a script that will automatically restrict them to whatever faction you start a campaign with, I actually think that script is already done but I haven't even tried testing it as I've been totally focused on that freaken reduction in build time ancillary...

    You could make a standard version like AUM-SHO where all factions have the units with technology and building requirement, later if someone want customize the mod using the pack editor is easy.

    I could do that except the idea is for the mod to give the player an advantage over the AI, a very unfair advantage

    Ya that's true for the advantage part. But that sounds hard to restrict it only to w/e clan you pick on campaign, if you can't do it, just leave it at exclusive_faction_permission table, im pretty sure the rest of the people using this can edit it themselves.

    What mean Kisho training? Do They have the stealth ability like place the unit in anywhere of the battle?

    Yep, Kiso Training means you can place them anywhere except enemy's deployment zone.

    Looks interesting. With this I can finally try legendary mode! The ability looks very cool though. Would love to see them in battle. Keep up the good work.

    Yeah, I'm really sorry guys, I've spent the past 2 days trying to add a reduction in build time to the custom ancillaries and it bothers me to release this without that but, if I don't make any headway there tonight I'm going to say "oh well" and release this as is. I will probably add a reduction in recruitment time, and boast the bonus to research points so every research will be 1 turn after you get the first General or Faction Leader ancillary.
