That is awesome.
The future of air-hockey

That wouldn't work. Silly me.
we can thank german scientists for that

Sorry dudes, this stuff is not new. In fact, it is older than your mother. It never go outside of laboratory because the expensive of the craft and a ridiculous low temperature to keep the craft in that 'flyable' condition which require a HUGE amount of energy.
If it is so cold and freezing how is the guy handling it with his bare hands?
Also you say huge amoutnof energy but at the start the magnets are held on a fairly small handheld portable platform.

it's like an ice. You can keep an ice in your bare for couple of seconds without effect.
Look, there is no mysterious stuff or advanced technology in this clip. If this is a really new stuff, the man who invented this will def. have a nobel prize. It's just a advanced well-made toy. Nothing more, nothing less
Its nothing new. This guy just gave it a new name/ advanced it a little perhaps.

You can do this anywhere with liquid nitrogen and a lump of carbon.
You could probably get the materials to do this yourself for under $100.
It is just superconductivity correct?
Yup, it's basically a demonstration of the Meissner effect.
Naaaaawr...why you gotta destroy my hopeful enthusiasm twc?
What other purpose does twc serve if not this?Naaaaawr...why you gotta destroy my hopeful enthusiasm twc?
Saw this 10 years ago on a football cup stand. Not impressed.
Here's an article that explains what's going on:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
I will say though, that classic R Kelly Trapped in the Closet Gif made my day.
This is cool, but it's simple... well no, but it's understood.
Frankly the difference between "Holy crap magic!" and "just how things work" is the amount of exposure. I can't for the life of me figure out how my computer works, although I am pretty sure other people do understand it. Regardless I am able to use it without actually having any idea what's happening.

The Earth is inhabited by billions of idiots.
The search for intelligent life continues...
Saw this at a science demo in middle school.
The only problem with it is that you cant really use it to build a flying car or a new form of aircraft since it has to remain above the magnet. You could though use it to levitate trains but it would then come down to costs. How much does it cost to build and maintain and how much in fuel would you need to run the system? Is it less fuel than current models then perhaps the costs to build would repay themselves.
