    Default TWC Political Graph

So I have been thinking about this for a while already. I don't know if it will fully work, maybe it will, but it's worth a try. What I want to do is for TWC members to fill a short questionnaire regarding political choices, and after I have a considerable amount of responses, create graphs showing where TWC members stand on certain issues. The issues are not regarding political theory, but rather what side of conflicts/alliances you feel you support more. So when I say "support", think of it more, which country or alliance you see yourself as defending more and sympathising with in general.

You can also say 'neither' if you are torn between the two, or have no specific preference, I will make room for that in the graph.

Some match-ups like US and China have no active conflict, but obviously have wide range of conflicting interests and issues, and are rivals in some respects. So those choices require taking more into consideration, not just on issue. One possible way of looking at it is which country you rather be more powerful and have more influence in the world.

    ----
    Support?

    1) Israel or Palestine?
    2) NATO or CSTO? (CSTO is a Russian led military bloc)
    3) Iran or Israel?
    4) Serbia or Kosovo Albanians?
    5) Turkey or Cyprus? (in the Cyprus dispute)
    6) Armenia or Azerbaijan? (in the Karabakh dispute)
    7) Georgia or Abkhazia/S. Ossetia?
    8) India or Pakistan? (Kashmir dispute)
    9) Greece or Macedonia? (in naming dispute)
    10) US or China?
    11) EU or US?
    12) Gadaffi or Rebels?

    ----

    Graph so far:

    No tariffs or yes tariffs
    Jus Soli or Jus Sanguines
    Flat Tax or Graduated Tax

Thanks for your response. There's already a thread I believe for those kind of questions regarding political theory.

Your questions seem vague, especially in the case of palestine and Israel or NATO and CTSO

Well they are vague obviously, because the issues behind the division are much more complicated than that. But, on the other hand, a good amount of people will regularly defend Palestine or Israel in most situations, and same with whether supporting NATO or the Russian led military bloc. So, it's more an encompassing question.

The link to my political profile in my sig is a little more extensive, and answers all of your questions.

    But to play devil's advocate:

    1) Support and condemn both equally on the issue.
    2) I'm unfamiliar with CTSO's history
    3) Iran or Israel as far as what?
    4) Neither. Serbians should have kept the Serbian majority areas, Albania proper should have received the rest of Kosovo.
    5) Cyprus, no question.
    6) Armenia, no question.
    7) Not really certain on this one.
    8) Neither, Kashmir should receive a referendum.
    9) Greece on this one, but the Greeks care too much about it.
    10) As far as what?
    11) As far as what?
    12) Lukewarmly rebels, but not going to jump the gun on supporting what may be extremists.

    Palestine
Nato - Don't really know about CSTO much though
    Israel
    Kosovo
    Cyprus
    Armenia
    Abkhazia/S. Ossetia
    India
Macedonia - Macedonia shouldn't have to be renamed but I think Greek's saying that them calling themselves that is silly for various reasons is a legitimate complaint, but not one that should have official ramifications
    Neither
    EU
    Rebels

Ok... so you prefer CSTO because its not NATO?

Fair call, although I don't think Stalin is as bad as some people say for a variety of complex reasons.

There's as far as I've gotten with the spreadsheet I'm working on with the thread's data, the template seems to be pretty good so far, although I've only entered the data for 14 people. I'll finish the rest tomorrow.

    1) Palestine and Israel both deserve a state, or one united state.
    2) Neither
    3) Neither, both are detrimental to the Middle East's security.
    4) Serbian majority areas go to Serbia, rest goes to Albania. Anything but an independent Kosovo.
    5) Turkish military needs to withdraw along with its Turkish settlers.
    6) Armenia
    7) Abkhazia/S. Ossetia
    8) Kashmire independent or part of Pakistan if it wants to be. India can screw off.
    9) Macedonia, Greeks need to worry about more important issues.
    10) Neither, both are Imperialist states.
    11) Neither
    12) Rebels

I find it sad some people are incapable of independent thinking and just go with what ever their country, political grouping, or religious community goes with.
