    Default BI.exe or ALEX.exe?

Ive been hearing a lot of discussion between which one to use like BI.exe has shield wall and ALEX.exe usually has better AI, etc.

Which one do you like to use?

At first I preferred the Alex.exe but once I discovered how well the shieldwall was integrated into the mod I switched to BI.exe. I sucks that the swimming and shieldwall feature wasnt included in the Alexander expansion. A bit of a head scratcher that one.

I agree. Shield wall is an invaluable tactic to the legions but the trade off is no testudo correct?

sheild wall is only alavilable to units without testudo me thinks... e.g. triarii.

I've been using the RTW Alex exe for a number of years (quite a few) for all mods that I play. I personally don't care for shieldwall (I don't think it's realistic) or swimming (units just get slaughtered if/when they emerge in a tired state by fresh units).

But it's down to personal choice.

Is there no way to mod swimming and shieldwall into the ALX.exe?

No I don't think so, I think that is one of those immutable part of the exe things.
