Reinstalling and loading save game

If I was playing a game in my first installation, saved it, uninstalled and reinstalled Stainless Steel, and then put the save file back into the saves folder and reloaded it in the new installation, my difficulty levels are going to be restored without issue, correct?

Yes. Just make sure you have the same submod configuration as your old installation

What if I installed and started using ReallyBadAI submod to stop CTDs during battles? Is that going to muck things up?

Well given that G5's AI has lots of stuff in the campaign script, those changes wont make it into existing games.

Oh, I'm only using the one that modifies battle AI (ReallyBadAI Battle System 5.1). Somehow it stops my game from freezing and crashing during battles. However, I added it in mid campaign.
