    Default How to restart script?

Heres the situation, after my second turn, i end it and capua and tarentum rebel, the rebels kill both my generals in he city so im like . I just reload and this time take my generals to rome. However, this time the rebelion doesnt occur. I think it is b/c the script is not started. But i just keep ending the turn like 7 times to see if maybe it will reoccur later, but it doesnt. Should i restart or is therr spme better wayto fix it?

exit the program and restart your campaign and reactivate the script. You need to exit the program and start a new campaign in order for the script to properly activate.

if you want to maintain your campaign try exiting the program, loading your last save where your generals were not dead, and then activate the script see of that works

The rebellion happens within the first few turns but it is random and what rebels is random. I think Capua may always rebel. It will always be the Southern Italian cities that rebel.

The problem with restarting a game that was started without the script just once is that you can end up with a duplicate character, and everything will appear to be good for a good few turns, then bam, CTD which will be really frustrating as you won't be able to work out why it is CTD'ing. That will ring a bell with quite a few people

As you are only a few turns in, I would seriously suggest restarting. Now you know the rebellion will happen so you can gameplay and remove them to safety first, or you can play the cards you are dealt and deal with whatever consequences occur - no matter how irritating.

will do. I am going to restart the campaign. Also, I read in the faq that we arnt supposed to quicksave or autosave, why exactly is that?

Both are extremely buggy that makes un necessary CTD's.

So best advice is to avoid using those saves

They both use the same routine to create a save file. If the routine fails it means that the save you have is corrupted and if you only autosave/quicksave you will only have a single save and that will be the end of that campaign for you.

The suggested thing to do is to not do either and manually save on a regular basis. Personally, I will save after most turns and if I've had several battles in a turn then after each battle (just in case).

I tend to name my saves as faction/year/season - so SPQR_650S and SPQR_650W and if multiple saves per turn I'll just add a number to the end. This makes it easy to work out what each save is.

You can manually delete the saves rather than use the in-game facility to do so - you can delete multiple saves in one go if you do this manually using explorer.

The background script is very important and needs to be running all the time. If you need to re-load a save after a problem in the battle it's best to exit out of the game and restart from the save game. I think many problems are caused by players running the campaign with the script on, then off and then on again.....
