Soldiering has and always will be in this mans blood, the death of his father, a Roman Legionary, at the hands of the barbarians has taught him one thing; Rome cannot be relied upon to protect it's men. Therefore unlike his brothers, who rushed at the chance to become soldiers, the first oppurtunity they were given, Gnaeus decided to take a different path, his family was wealthy and well connected. Why not use that wealth, those connections for political means, rather than follow orders, give them.
He has come to Rome with one purpose, he has come to Rome for power.
