Biography

Triarius Atilius Regulus A son of the deceased Senator, Antonius Regulus, grandson of the famous Marius Regulus and born of the Atili gens, Triarius retired from the military as a Legate at the age of 30 in order to handle the estates left by his father. Within a few months time, the young Roman would seek a political career like his father. A veteran from the Balkans, Triarius, age 30, is a known and smart soldier with the potential to be a good politician like his father and grandfather. He is known to get drunk at times, but still is a valued Roman. He is rather smart and innovative in his methods. Triarius gives respect to his rivals and opponents, while holding his friends and allies in high favor and respect. Triarius is of average height for most Romans. His eyes are veteran and sharp, making his gaze seem intimidating. His black hair is curly and average length. His skin is a healthy peach, while the rest of his physical features show his earlier career in the military...from broad shoulders to athletic legs. Positions 60 BCE: Praetor 59 BCE: Praetor

The Regulus Family

Aurelia Regulus: Age 28 A beautiful and caring mother who was the daughter of a Greek nobleman who was an associate of Tiberius's father. She was married to the young Legate, not only because Cornelia was in love with Tiberius, but as a payment for a loan that the minor politician owed to Antonius Regulus. Tiberius Atilius Regulus The elder child of Aurelia and Triarius, Tiberius was born only a year after the marriage of his parents. Though only 14 years old, Tiberius shows promise as a future military commander. The young boy spends his free time reading military manuals and sparring with his dad. Flavia Atilius Regulus The second child of the Regulus family, Flavia has her mother's beauty, but has her father's brains. She is a rather bright and brilliant young lady for her age (13). She mostly is seen with her mother at parties and at the villa. In her free time, Flavia writes poetry and reads classic manuals on astronomy and poetry.

Gnaeus arrives to speak with the Senator

Triarius sits outside...watching his wife tend to the flowers with a few servants. His son was out with his Uncle, Marius Vitellius while Flavia was sitting down nearby, reading a book on astronomy. A servant brings Gnaeus into the presence of Triarius. He then stands up.

Welcome senator. I am Triarius Atilius Regulus. Please have a seat.

He tells the servant to bring some wine and bread for now. Triarius sits down.

What brings you to my estate?

"Ave Triarius, i am Gnaeus Claudius Tranquillus, and i would very much like to speak with you, if you do not mind?" Gnaeus asked as he took the seat, "Thank you" he says in response to the mans invitation

[Lucius Malfoy]

Triarius looks at Gnaeus. He pours himself a glass of wine as the servant brings Gnaeus one.

What is it you wish to speak of, Gnaeus?

[Dark Storm]

"I wish to ask you, are you the military Legate Triarius? Or am i thinking of another?" he said taking the wine from the servant

[Lucius Malfoy]

I am the military legate Triarius, yes. I served in Greece for some time while my father, Antonius lived and worked within the Senate.

[Dark Storm]

"Well then, it is certaintly an honour to meet you. My father was a Legionary, he would have served underneath you. He always spoke of the great legste, Triarius." Gnaeus smiled

Triarius blinks slightly upon hearing these words.

Your father served under me? What was his name?

"Marcus, Marcus Claudius Tranquillus." Gnaeus said, sipping the wine, "you probably wouldn't remember him..."

Senator Gnaeus Claudius Tranquillus arrived at the Villa Regulus, hoping to seek a private audience with the senator.

Valeria, Lucius's wife welcomes the senator and escorts him to where Lucius was. The Senator was in the private studies room, where his father used to read books and tend to business. Lucius was reading an old military manual, written by his grandfather. His eyes noticed Senator Gnaeus being brought in my Valeria. He closes the book.

Senator, what a pleasant surprise. Never suspected more company today.

Lucius chuckles lightly and then nods to his wife.

Valeria...bring us some refreshments. What brings you here, Senator?

"Ave Senator. I apologize if i have caused any disruption to your afternoon. I merely came around to meet the great legate Regulus. You are somewhat of a legend in my household, I believe my father may have served under you in the Balkans, he was always praising his great commander Regulus and i must admit, from what he has told me, i am in awe of you.

That aside, i was wandering if i could ask you a question concerning certain senators?

Lucius blinks at these words. He wasn't even that old...he was merely in his mid-30s. The Senator's father must have been one of the older commanders below him. He merely took a glass and looked at the Senator.

Quite rare that someone knows me of my military career...most praise the achievements of my father and grandfather, who helped solidify our control in Greece. I thank you for the comments. Now what is this question you speak of, Gnaeus?

Triarius ponders slightly, stroking his beard.

Was he in...2nd cohort? Southern Greece?

Gnaeus nods, "Yes, yes he would have been, that was were he died." Gnaeus sighed slightly

Triarius sips his drink lightly.

A good Legionary...what do you do, Gnaeus?

"I?" Gnaeus asked, "Well i am a Senator," he smiled, "New to the Curia, i grant you. However i always wish to serve my republic, and this seemed like the best path."

Publilus arrives to speak with Regulus.

Later that day...

Triarius is in the gardens, sparring with his son, Tiberius. His wife and daughter watch with Uncle Vitellius nearby. A servant leads Publilius to where the family had gathered.
