Senatorial ranks (Romani)
Hello,
Since I got back into EB and ofcourse, playing the Romani day in day out, I've gotten into researching all about these senatorial ranks, due to also using QS' guider of conduct which you are all aware of.
I went to look for some information in my data folders and, succes! I found a table with some info about these specific traits, I copy pasted them to make it "easier" although it's a bit of a long read:
; Offices
;Title
;Quantity ; How many hold this office at any one time
;Duration ; Duration of tenure (turns)
;Settings ; Number of times office can be held - 0 implies unlimited
;Restrictions ; What restricts office being taken
; not_consecutively ; Can not be re-elected while in office
; quaestor_tenure ; Must have held office as quaestor
; aedile_tenure ; aedile
; praetor_tenure ; praetor
; consul_tenure ; tenure
;End_restrictions
;Senate_benefits ; The crony-perks of the office
; no_censor_suicide ; Censor investigation will not result in your suicide
; censor_immunity ; You will avoid investigation by the censor
;End_senate_benefits

Here you can see basically for how long and what order you're going to have(to get) the office(s).
I do wonder about what it is that the "rank" stood for, I first thought it was the age you needed to have in order to be eligable to get said office but that didn't seem to work out.
So my question is what does the rank stand for? And, if someone knows the age when someone can reach this or that office it would also be greatly appreciated.
On the other hand there seem to be a few missing that way back, 2000 years ago, were part of the cursus honororum or were considered to be an important step to wether or not advance in this cursus.
A few that come to mind are tribune of the plebs and military tribune.
Are these 2 needed (Tribune of the plebs only for tribunes, and the curule aediles and aedile just change wether or not the specific person is plebs or not) to reach Quaestor in order to start the advancements or not? I could go and see for myself but it has been incredibilly time consuming to just RP the game and right now I can't get into the game so I thought some more experienced people might be able to give a more comprehensive answer.
The last thing I'd want to ask is if you get chosen as tribune of the plebs do you have to stay at Roma or can you go and make your walks to other cities and do you have to be in Roma in order to be elected for this office in the first place?
Secondly, do you have to be in Roma to be eligable for any/some senatorial offices or can you be elected in another, random city (as in you have to end the turn in a city AND you have to have 100% movement points left as needed in some traits, or even all?)or even be in the field with your army?
I understand what I ask is actually terribly going into detail and might have some answers only developers of the game know, so any answer in itself already satisfies me
