SO MANY CHOICES.......... NO TIME!!!!!
My option will be to go into Italy, they are vulnerable and can gather massive amounts of wealth.
Invade Italy and rest on a gondola in Venice
Sweep through the cold Baltic states
Occupy the Hungarian land only to realise that you have to farm it

Best choice for me. Cash plus gives possibility to send ships easily south east and ouest.
Why bother making a poll if you're only going to upload 3 of hundreds of options as the HRE...
Wealth beyond measure, Outlander.
Well FIRST thing I do is solidfy my power in Germany and the lowlands, but yeah, I usually pick on Italia as my first real war. Sometimes France or England if they took Bruge. One time Denmark since the blitzkreig'd Hamburg and that one city.
Small army north to Arhus, large army to Italy, then France will fall. Then I will take the Balkans and Greece, then Turkey, and the Levant as well as parts of greater Arabia, west to Egypt, then I raise an army and take over Iberia, then follow the Moors to northern Africa and BOOM! Roman empire created.
Assuming the decision is not taken out of my hands by enemies then I would try to reduce the number of fronts, probably by heading North first, then west.
I always strike France first... they are quite weak early on, and then invade italy and trash ROME
That reminds me of my most glorious campaign EVAH as the HRE. I ruled all of Germany, Italy, most of Poland, and Scandanavia. I was expanding in the Balkans since the Venetians owned alot of it, and they took most of Hungary. So I took it, and then me and my Hungarian Allies went against the Byzantine Empire(this was in 6.1 Plain, so they werent all badass). It was like a flippin World War 0 since I paid the Knights Templar to join in, and I fought a naval and island war with the Crown of Aragon, allied to the Byzantines.
The war finally ended with me taking the western half of Greece from them, and all Byzantine islands(Rhodes, Crete, and Cyprus)
I would go north first since it is an easy front and also to allow the more fun enemies to get on their feet. Then I would probably go west into Poland but only a little ways, try to make them vassals. Then SW into Hungary. Probably a Crusade in there somewhere and expand a bit in the middle east before handing it over to CS. Finally Italy and France for the final battles and probably face down the Pope as well.

Advance EAST (you know for who) into Poland, thank take Kievan Rus lands and clash with the Mongols... that will be the beginning of a beautiful "friendship".
Is this early or late campaign?
I just take out all the rebels near me, and after expand into france and italy.
Hello brother of the Empire!
Suggestions on who always played with the Holy Empire: wipe out the rebels. Ensure its borders with France, Genoa and Venice. Strengthens Bologna. Capture Zagreb. Make it clear to the Poles that you are there and requires your living space. To avoid excomungacoes, go barging a war continues to the north, against Denmark (this first) and Norway (after the fall of Denmark, focus entirely), to the east with the Poles, and prepare the envious French will attack, also English, Scots undoubtedly (if they are allies of the British - in fact vassals), mainly because of Burgundy and Antwerp, cities that you must capture and turn into the castle, if not to be. Recommendation: be an ally of the Pope in the first round, complete all papal missions, complete with all trade agreements and keep them until the inevitable war.
Eventually, the capital inattentive Venice, Bologna and part of you and take. Genova also because he had lived at war with France and Aragon. Beware of the treacherous Sicilian, and AVOID AT ALL COSTS BE EXCOMUNAGADO. Crusades against Frankfurt are very unpleasant and costly.
Long live the Empire!
I strike at Venice first. Take it while you can get away with it in regards to your relations with the papacy. Also you cripple them right off the bat and give yourself one of the richest cities in the game. After that I go for France and try to take out all their castles while they are weak to prevent headaches later on when they get much, much stronger.
