Anyone play multiplayer?

Whats the multiplayer like in napoleon and empire these days? It seems there is no one that plays empire and a handful of players who play napoleon?

Am I missing something? My steam dl region is currently washington DC and I live in Australia.

Is the multiplayer population really that low or do I need to do something else? Im guessing vanilla versions are the best bet for finding multiplayer games?

Can anyone confirm any of this? or Do i have to buy shogun TW.

i still play both empire and nappy. i think there are less people playing nappy but theres still a good few out there who still do. as for empire i have recently started playing that again and was pleasantly surprised at how busy it is and have even got a game quicker there than in nappy.
the lobby does get quieter late at night in both games (european times) which i'm assuming is when players from australia and other parts of the world are on so it wouldnt be as busy for them guys.
@muppetgank i suggest u change ur download region to london as i think this might help u find games.

hmmm. Ok what about mods? I just want to play what everyone else is playing so im guessing not many people play with mods...It's just that I tried empire and there was like 1 game listed and it said I had a different version So I could not join. My question is shouldn't all games be displayed regardless of Mod/version and it will just say you have different version? I have DMUC and maybe that is conflicting with it. How can I disable DMUC without uninstalling it?

I played 5 games yesterday and really the quality in nap has just disappeared. The players dont seem to even know the basics, is this a problem that everyone is finding or am i just getting some really really bad luck. As really if it is gonna survive it needs spicing up.

i'm playing empire alot more these days. doing alot of 1v1 on there as i really like some of the maps like algeria, ceylon, cube etc. even though theres a few noobs on there. it has quite a thriving scene and have had some really intense games.
i think alot of HMG's future members will be recruited from empire.
i still play nappy and will always love it and i still see alot of dedicated players on there. as for the noobs, well we all were noobs when we first started and hopefully alot will become more skilled with experience. it just shows that more new players are coming in. nappy is far from dead and i'm happy with it as alot of the ego's, trash talkers and general have moved on to shogun.
all u need to do is go on the shogun forum to see all the trolling, spitefull comments and general trashtalking to see i have a point...

NTW is in a odd place where u have a mix of very experienced, comitted players who love the game and a lot of new players who have yet to learn some of the basics. Its the vast bulk of inbetweeners who are missing at the moment.

funny thing is more people play ETW than shogun so yeah if it seems to you no1 plays empire than i wonder whats it like in shogun.

I play NTW3 ... but I see some vanilla games out there...bare in mind CA has filtered all modded multiplayer games, so there are a lot of games out there you dont see!

i think the best time to play is late america early euorupe

Yep, naval players are the same, i only play MP naval, same guys in the last 2 years, some new ones come, but still alive here, on london server...
