    Default The Map

I can't find a screenshot of the map but from what I've read it sounds like Greece is the western most point on the map?

What is the reason for leaving out such huge and important lands? Is it so Europe can be depicted in more detail or because the RTR team are still working on adding in those factions?

    This is our map, http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=332044

The main reason for leaving out that side of the world is that we wanted a more realistic map as opposed to a bigger but less accurate one.

I still play RTRPE with friends in a hotseat game we've had going since April. It has the much bigger map. We're about 17 game years in. And it's a more relaxed, sandbox style. If we fight amongst ourselves we just set up a custom battle via the battle editor. It's only happened a few times. Really we just like to beat up on the AI and have fun. And it's not as detailed so it's a little easier to play like that and still make progress in the game. Probably one reason I came to RTR instead of EB. But they all have their strengths and weaknesses.

And I'm playing RTR-VII (and sucking badly at it), as the Spartans and now the Romans. So I like both RTR 6 and RTR-VII.
I like RTR-VII because I can get in a bunch of turns in a few hours of play by myself, and the immersion factor is really nice. The graphics are amazing. Though it probably wouldn't be so great for hotseat.

It wasn't really "a decision" to not cover asia. VII started in the west (Iberia) and in the course of years of development expanded towards the East. With the current release we have, IMHO, an interesting and different kind of campaign. We're also close to, or on the hardcoded limits on a number of elements. The conclusion is simple: we can only expand further east by cannibalizing the current layout (regions, factions, buildings, rosters etc.) only to move into a "market" that's well served already by mods out there.
