Default slow scroll speed in battles?

How do I make my scroll work faster like in RTW in battles?

Do what I do; When I need to scroll fast I use Right-Shift button, put the mouse cursor on the edge of the screen to where I want to scroll to and use the arrow keys accordingly. It triples the speed.

Remember left shift works as well. You can also raise the speed permanently by using Page Up and Page Down.

Sorry man but I think I did not describe my issue properly! I want to be able to zoom in and out quickly (Just like RTW) so I can see the men slaughtering each other on the field =P

Well, I use the mouse wheel for that, found it of sufficient speed.

Look for the settings preferences file. If it's not in there I doubt you can at all.

I have figured it out after 100 years!

In game options you simply change your camera mode to RTS Camera and your scroll speed will be fixed
As usual holding left shift while scrolling will make it even faster... or just toggle it on by turning on Caps Lock.

You are welcome the few people who never actually got an answer in any of the threads about this issue.

Apologies for necroing this thread, but since it comes up first on Google search under "medieval 2 scroll speed" and also since I had the same problem recently as OP, I'll clarify the issue for others who might have it.

The scroll speed in Medieval 2 for some reason scales with Camera move/rotation speed. The workaround is to lower your move/rotation speed (setting that can be changed during battles only) and then pressing Page Up to step it up until you have the combination of move speed and scroll speed that suits you. If you reach the desired scroll speed but the move speed has become too fast, simply lower it even further and use Page Up again to scale the scroll speed. Keep doing this until you find that sweet spot of perfect move and scroll speed.
