    Default Patching Up

    Hey all,

I want to install the newest version of the SPQR mod but I first have to install all the patches, starting with version 1.3. The problem is, I've downloaded "Rome Total War - patch 1.3.exe" from totlewar.com but when I go to run it, I get an error.

I've erased everything to do with RTW and reinstalled it to vanilla.

Does anyone have any suggestions or reasons why the patch won't help? Thanks.

No I do not know why, but since you erased all traces of vanilla RTW, it should work.

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Professional\RunTime

Delete the 1701 folder. this is what causes the issues with the 1.3 patch and 1.5 patch installs. Its in the main help section here. but I thought I would post it to help.

Thanks lt1956, I found a folder named 0701 instead and deleted that. The installer ran but it then gave me another error saying "No prior installation of Rome Total War was found", so the installer quit.

    Any other suggestions?

    Thanks.

Delete that folder, make sure it is gone. Then re-install RTW and patch it up. This should work.

    Peace,

Thanks for the help but sorry to say the patch still won't update to version 1.3, even after another clean install and making sure the folder is gone.
