    Default Making Wealthy Settlements?

well here is my question, how can i make some cities more economically important(aka richer) than the others? and this is no matter the settlement type, be it Castle or City.

also regarding trade route on land and sea, is there anyway i can influence which way the trade route connect? is there a logic behind them? is there a way for me to increase their traffic?
i also have cities who have ports who trade with cities who have no ports but are really close(on the edge) to the coastline.

    thanks for the answers

Make hidden resources for those settlements you want to make richer. Give them a flat income bonus in certain buildings (maybe market) and make it require that hidden resource.

Yes, if a hidden resource already exists for a settlement, then there's no need to make another one.

Mineable resources would be any easy place to start!

For example, double the mineable reources for the settlements on the strat map, then increase the mining income in the edb and/or increase the mineable resources value in the descr_sm_resources.txt file.

The absolute easiest way is to "duplicate" the resources in a region,
one on top of another just increases the income without anyone knowing.

at the top of the descr_strat :
This will triple the income in marbletrade in abydus.
    Code:
    ; >>>> start of resources section <<<<
    resource fish 104 321 ;Aberdeen
    resource marble 281 148 ;Abydus
    resource marble 281 148 ;Abydus
    resource marble 281 148 ;Abydus
    resource grain 283 145 ;Abydus
    resource fish 361 106 ;Acre
    resource grain 349 135 ;Adana
    resource silver 356 141 ;Adana

If you put 3 resources on top of each other, would a merchant trading them get 3 times the normal amount? Or would he just get the normal amount for marble?

And, of course, you can boost the initial size and infrastructure of a settlement in descr_strat to give it a leg up from the campaign start. Generally, castles will never be good money makers because they cannot construct the important buildings that affect its income.
