Icon10 Blast from the past, as well as a delay.

Let me first mention how great it is for SS to really give M2TW a new feel to it.
I had been playing the original to the moment I got tired of it and played Empire, now I've got SS, Empire out, Medieval Back!

I don't have the Kingdoms Expansion, I know many of you will tell me to purchase it, but the thing is in my country, I've looked pretty much everywhere and they don't sell it.. sigh*
So I figured out the only way was to use Mods to rejuvinate the gameplay experience. That's why I chose SS.

Now due to the fact I lack the Kingdom's Expansion, I am unable to enjoy SS6.0, well anything afterwards 4.1 to be exact. So I have to make due with what I have....

I know it is out of place (and time) to ask, but I was wondering whether anyone out there who has played the SS4.1 and knows when the Timurids arrive, the year in my game is already 1385, and the Timurid Movie Intro has shown, but still, nothing near Baghdad yet. It's annoying since I've been mobilizing a whopping great number of men to defend Baghdad and the fortress beside it, and I'm into debt now.... Yet, I don't dare to disband the army since my Eastern door will be open to the Timurids shudder* the result would be most.... unamusing. is there a bug causing the delay? I do notice my Saracen Mercenaries weaponless, but capable of punching the enemy to death.

Anyway, 4.1 really impresses me, makes me yearn 6.0 even more...............

Can you get a copy of Kingdoms on Amazon or other online stores?

There are several places where you can download Kingdoms as an online version of the game.
Amazon is a good example, like the person above me said.
Steam and Gamestop.com also do that.

I'll try these few days, I'm still a little busy from the work of my professor....
Still, I'm waiting for the god forsaken Timurids, I can't wait yet feel so annoyed by their decades long delay... it's 1390!!! WHERE ARE THEY?

Where are you that you cant get it? o_O Check Amazon, im sure you can get it there. Probably alot cheaper than at retail, and if youre on a slower connection, like I am(Dial Up. And yes, I am an American. Feelsbadman.jpg), its the best way to go. I downloaded Stainless Steel 6.1 on dial up, took a YEAR using uTorrent, since I couldnt get many seeds, and for awhile I didnt download on it

Anyway, if you can download large things and still cant get ahold of Kingdoms, I do think you just need a patch for Medieval 2 that enables the "campaign" feature. Not sure about that, but I did read all I had to do to get mods for Kingdoms was install the patch and none of the campaigns. *shrugs*

    I love this post!!!

Question:When do the Timurids arrive in SS4.1 ?

Answere 1: Where do you live?
Answere 2: Why donīt you buy the expansion at Amazon?

I have never played this version, so i cannot say how the files folders names are...
but there should be an folder called "SS4.1/data/world/campaign/imperialcampaign"

    something like that!

once inside search for a file called something like "campaign.txt" or "strat.txt" or even something with "script"

    search these files for "timurids"...

hopefully you will find the spawning script! do not change anything, just look for a year...
I am sorry i cannot tell you the ecxact folder/file īs names! I do not have SS installed here... and perhaps the names where different in those times...

    Thanks, Lazy!
Well, I live in Taiwan now, and I've been looking for ages for the Kingdoms Expansion. They did sell it back awhile ago in the retail stores here, alongside Medieval II TW, but with the coming of Empire, Napoleon, and now Shogun 2, they are way way gone from the shelf. In fact, I did a check at the stores yesterday, I was digging through the old game shelf, where there are crappy or old games(M2TW is not crappy) but there wasn't anything there, the only reasonable game there was Batman Arkham Asylum.
I usually wait for prices to fall, I'm just a grad student, so I can't really squeeze enough juice for entertainment purposes. I could have bought it, but waited too long for the price drop, so I've been playing M2TW mostly. It's a good game. It's replayability gives me a much higher satisfaction than Empire, the field battles are much more fun as well.
Now I am waiting the long long wait for Shogun to drop.... than... I will purchase...

Amazon, considered it, but I've never bought anything off online, but I reckon I could give it a try.

Well, since my play last night, it's now 1400, and those Timurids are tardy... I'm itching to de-activate my Eastern Armies to save my financial crisis. I've only fought with elephants but never against elephants.... I want to get this over with!
The graphs do show their faction, the line graph of their situation of financial, military, territorial etc. Their faction shield even appears on top, but they never appear. I've built outposts on the eastern borders of Baghdad, but no sigh at all. It's like a ghost faction. They appear on every graph, but never on the map in armies!

If you cant buy it, get it other ways, and dont install any kingdoms mods (kingdoms has 4 campaigns/mods that install at the same level than SS, just dont install them), you wont be playing them simply using some files....

As I said, isnt there a patch that does the trick? Or do you actually need Kingdoms?

And you can install the campaigns if you want However theres mod versions of them out now. I can vouch that Caesar's Battle for the Baltic 2.0 is better than the vanilla Teutonic Campaign. Rule Britannia looks good too(its a seperate mod though). Theres no Americas mod except the Extended Americas, and theres a crusades sub mod, I didnt get it this round of downloadin though

Is it legal to upload or send him the original kingdoms.exe here ?
Is it legal to play SS 6.4 without owning a copy of kingdoms?

If the last answere is "YES" he could download it somewhere else...

I think second possibility is legal as long you do not use it to crack the original game or other illegal stuff...
f.e. it is legal to crack a game that you have bought legally to free your cd drive so you can insert your own music cds... at least in europe, after buying something you really own it... no idea what US law is saying here...
I am just asking because I am about to post my exe right now... without getting banned

Deleted. It is against TWC rules to promote piracy. Doing so will get you banned

Lazy, I have checked the script.
However, I couldn't see any dates on it, there were no years written of it, it did write which cities it would appear at, but the years is 1402, and I think there's strange bizarre lateness.

I have a non-pirated copy of Medieval II, it's a game really worth buying.
I must once again confess, I like Empire only due to it's sea battles.... the rest... hmmm....

By the way, just to mention, the Timurids finally showed up in the game, you know that scroll thta pops up after each turn mentioning News? well, it Popped up saying the Timurids have found a new homeland, in Kiev!

No wonder I didn't see anything at the radius of Baghdad. They were spawned way way North......
The Mongols are in for hell now, most of their forces and lands were also the same spots as Timurid spawning areas.... and the Mongols have depleted much of their forces in Siege battles.
