Stark has to pass. I am having the exact same problem as Vozd in another hotseat. Everytime I try to load the game is just goes right back to the main menu.

I have reinstalled everything, I have tried both Hot seat fixes and gone into my hidden files and deleted everything mentioned. So basically I have tried everything and have no idea why it doesnt work for me.

The funny thing is, if I create a new game, save it, and then load it, that game loads. Yet when I try to load the hotseat, it just crashes back to the menu.

I would still very much like to play, but unless someone has any ideas, I appear to be up creek.

Try this please:

1) Locate the medieval2.preference and open it with notepad.


2) Verify the values of the following settings (if not there add them.)

turns = 0
scroll = 0
autoresolve_battles = 0
disable_console = 0
disable_papal_elections = 1
save_prefs = 1
update_ai_camera = 1
validate_diplomacy = 1



IV Save the config file.


V. Open the config file properties (right click on it and choose properties) then check read only. (* Note: if you do not do this the config file will be over written on every new hotseat game.) You are now configured to play.

Thank you for your help, but the problem remains. I found medieval2.preference and the values were not there. I added them. Saved the file and then changed it to a read only. Just as you said. However the problem remains. Everytime I try to load the hotseat, it just goes back to the main menu.

On an interesting note, the Stark Test doesnt load either and just goes back to the main screen. However if I create a new game, save it, and load it, it loads.

So it appears to be the saved games arnt meshing with the westeros, which doesnt make any sense cause this is all pretty straight forward.

It has to be something to do with the medieval ii configs, because when I got Vozd's Westeros folder, and tried loading the same file that didn't work for him, it worked perfectly for me.

Here's my medieval2.preference.cfg, could you copy your own to your desktop so you have a backup, and then replace yours with mine and give it a run.

I dont think it has to do with the hotseat. I would very much like to know if Vozd can load the "Stark Test" save because I cant and have the same problem where it crashs back to the main menu. Yet I can start a new game, save it, and then load it up. Seems to me there is something wrong with what I did with enhanced. Where it wont load "Stark Test" because that test was saved on a enhanced that was different then mine?

Installed everything and it seems to work (stark test and the arryn save load just fine)
