Default First no lag, now loads of lag

Hello guys, when I first bought my Asus Laptop and I played some Roma Surrectum II I could play big battles with no lag!!

Now a few months later I decided to play some Rome again.. and now even small battles (like 2500 soldiers on the field) makes me experiance big laggs! This happens aswell when all settings are on lowest!!

How did this happen? What can I do?

Perhaps your computer is slower. Is that a main laptop you use? I'm pretty sure, right? . Yeah just clean out some unnecessary files, uninstall some huge programs you no longer use. You should be fine. And close down any useless programs using task manager so they stop hogging your RAM.

Did you do DiscDefrag to move uninstalled files that got jumbled up into correct positions? Those slow the computer down unless placed correctly. Use CCleaner to fix any minor registry errors. Anything you can do. I find Defrag best though.

I did that! And no success! Also I just tried Medieval 2 Total war, setting high 3000 soldiers on the map, loads of trees etc and experienced almost no lag! Why is it working perfectly on medieval 2? But on Rome.. huge lag?

Dxdiag please. I hate guessing only knowing that it is an Asus It could be because you have a GPU that is, so to say, too good for RTW. I guess (not knowing how demanding RS II is) that you could end up in a situation where lower settings (widescreen ??) could be the best solution.
