I've just started and I've taken over Krete, but I noticed that even though I took the city, the Island is still "Elutheroi"

Further, I seem to own a large chunk of territory in Algeria which I've never visited

Also, is it possible to recruit Cretian Archers? The option is not showing up for me in Kydonia

According to the recruitment viewer, you should be able to recruit kretan archers from your national mic lvl 4

I think you simply didn't explore that part of the island after you've conquered it. Send a spy to Crete; they have a large line of sight and that should be fixed.

The city of Adrumeto (that's modern Tunisia, by the way) in North Africa must have rebelled against Carthage and declared for Koinon Hellenon. I never saw that happening before and I don't know why a province in Northern Africa would join the KH. With KH, you can expect certain provinces to declare for you: Emporion and Arse in Iberia, Massalia in southern Gaul, Pergamon and Halikarnassos in Asia Minor, Chersonesos and Pantikapaion in Asia.

According to the Recruitment Viewer, Cretan archers are recruitable by every faction. Koinon Hellenon needs to build Level 4 Native Barracks to train them.

Read How to install EB very careful and try to remember if you did anything wrong during the installation. If not, start a new game and it should be fine. If yes, re-install EB.
