Does anyone else think that if there is ever a SS 6.5 there should be custom settlements? i mean Constantinople rome jerusalem would be amazing to have. Anyone else feel the same?

While this is true, I think it would be entirely worth it.
Plus it would be nice that most cities would need to be capped at fortress/large city. I always hate it when every city is Huge and castle Citadel before 1300. It takes away the uniqueness and importance of cities/castles that should be prominent.![]()

if you guys play TATW you will see they have custom settlements there by KK and others... it means its possible....
ah well, that would be nice, but still big work, i mean, its not the same playing minas tirith with medieval buildings than jerusalem with some arabic-like buildings, so work wouldnt deliver same level of improvement.
But im not the one who is gona say NO to an improvement![]()

Specifically look at Minas Tirith. Think about doing the same thing with Jerusalem, Rome, Constantinople, etc. The thought alone gets me so aroused![]()

One thing that might be interesting is to make permanent forts with village models and place them around the map to fill up places like Russia where the distances between settlements are large... and maybe somehow put a penalty on the province owner if these 'villages' in the province are taken by another faction... Might make for some interesting possibilities.
Of course if such a thing is possible, but I think you can tie scripts to permanent forts, I'm sure I saw some mods that did that.
they could maybe borrow them from other mods
the problem with real Medieval cities is simply the enormous size of prominent settlements and thus an extreme load of work. But also the performance is something very critical and the whole process has to be very well thought out.
For example, the biggest city in TATW will be Osgiliath which needed months of work, but even this size would not be sufficient for 'real' medieval cities.
However, castles and fortresses are a completely different thing and even after all my TATW settlements my mind is still full of building plans.![]()

Well I think it would be impossible to make Constantinople or any Medieval city to scale. But one can make it so you have a battlefield that resembles the city. For example you can attack Constantinople from One direction and it has two walls even if the "city" itself still has the same square kilometers as a regular huge city in vanilla. The objective of making you go through the same tactics as Mehmet the Conqueror is completed.
