A modification for Terrae Expugnandae 4.0

I have begun on my modification to alter Lusted's wonderful mod.

Currently I am working on Illyria



It replaces the Spain faction.

Other changes include:
*Briton being replaced
*Realistic Eygpt
*Some AOR Units

Please posted any other suggestions here.

Who will replace the Britons? And don't you think that making Iberia rebels would make it too easy for Carthage to expand? Unless of course, you make a lot/aggresive rebels.

Making tough rebels isnt incredibly hard.

If I may disagree and make some constructive criticism, I don`t think that replacing the Iberian-Spain faction is a very good idea. The Iberians were a important faction in RTW timeframe, at least much more than the illyrians... their role in the punic wars was capital...

But it`s your mod, it`s your call.

I would replace the Thracians with the Illyrians, and rename the Dacians as Getai or something...

What`s very good is that you`re replacing the britons. BTW, who`ll be in place of the brits???

The Iberians had a role yes, but that role can easyily be represented by rebels. They will be very hard to conquer. I have never seen the Iberians form an Empire in the game so as long as the rebels arent conquered by Carthage I have done them proper justice. The Illyrians are being added because I think they will simply be more fun to play.

As for the Britons who knows, Pergamum is a possiblity.

hm ... well ... the getai were actually tribes , then the dacians represented the unification , u know they were kind of not that barbarians .They had an "empire" if i can call it this way coz they owned like 400.000 km/square of land (modern - romania,part of russia , part of ukraine, part of hungary) , they conquered tomis and they had sea acces , they also had intelligence , as the books saied that they had spyes in rome ; they had social classes as the civilized factions , with nobles and all the other **** and they weared a cap as a sign of nobility ; thou as i remember they didnt had slaves ...
trajan conquered them in the 100 AD , 101 or 113 . ... seems that i cant remember , and aaa yeah he counquered them coz they were betrayed , the romans bribed some nobles for some secret tunnels and channels infos (yeah for entering the city doh) ;
basiclly dacians kicked romans asses coz they won several battles , important ones to , outnumbered , and of yeah ... they had a organised way of fight and damn good archers...

Yeah, I`m aware of that.

My point was that in this timeframe, it`s more proper to be talking about Getai than of Dacians... (If you watch the starting positions, the Dacians start in the Getia province...)

BTW, classical authors are unanimous in considering the Dacians a branch of the Getae (Wikipedia).

My opinion was that it would be good to unify the Dacians with the Thracians, and just calling them all as "Thracians" (Thus, freeing a faction slot). What I stated was that if they wanted to put the Illyrians in the mod along with the Thracians and the Dacians, maybe a good idea was to replace the mod`s thracians with the Illyrians, and rename the Dacians as Thracians or Getai...

Too many factions in the balkans, too many, too many...

After some quick searching, I suggest a stringed musical insturment (like a harp-ish thing), an upon pipe (whatever that looks like), or a figure of the Illyrian protector (Medauras, who is pictured as carrying a lance while riding a horse).

I have my final idear for the Faction Symbol. I believe that a horse that is rearing up on its hind legs with a man in golden armour holding a spear (as though ordering an attack) with a dark blue background would be best.
