Products of coincidence and overactive imaginations. There are no such things as ghosts.
I think they exist, but as to precisely what a ghost is composed of is up to debate. I've seen some, and believe you me, my mind is anything but overactive.
I don't believe in what most people call "ghosts", but I believe in some sort of spiritual essence that is amongst the living. We can't see these spirits, and they may have no form, but I believe those forces exist.
I have had a cup fall on me before when it was at the back of cupboard, and heard footsteps upstairs when Im alone (the creaking travelled in a line and was accompanied by soft-thumps). I hate shadows that move across a wall when there is nothing moving in the house.
I am not paranoid about this stuff, as these things happen rarely; about once every four months or so. I don't think these forces can do anything but scare people.
I do think there are force out of our comprehension. But I believe the are probably either life forms or physical occurances beyond our understanding. I'd elaborate, but I'm a little inebreated to be honest.

i have creeking in my house, but it is probably due to that are house is over 25 years old, and i haven't seen a ghost as iv'e said, but i also believe that there might be some other parranormal (not sure of spelling) stuff out there, but until i see something, and until everyone in the world see or experiences something, this will all remain a mistery.
i believe in ghosts
theres always strange things happening in my family...Always when a relative dies
im curious to know what happens when a relative dies in your family? do you see walking around your house as a ghost?Originally Posted by sportfriend
Hell no. Why? Simple; I don't believe in things without some sort of evidence.
Abscence of evidence is not neccesarily evidence of abscence. It's an unknown unknown.Originally Posted by mongoose
I mean, mountain gorillas in Africa existed before there was recorded evidence, and when that evidence came out, people were equally as skeptical as you are about ghosts.
I just wrote a long post on this in another thread.
The idea that people see ghosts because they want to see them is a ridiculous explanation for all ghostly encounters imo. Yes, someone who walks into what they believe is a haunted house alone in the middle of the night might encounter mundane things which they attribute to the paranormal, but this does not cover all the bases.
More often that not, people move into "haunted" houses without knowing it. They don't believe in ghosts and the idea that there new dwelling is inhabited by poltergeists is not even present in their subconscious. It is the experiences that they go through (such as doors opening and closing on their own, books flying of shelves, being physically harmed, and even figures manifesting) that causes them to begin to believe, get their story out, and seek help.
If you want to see some good anecdotes on ghostly encounters watch "A Haunting" on the discovery channel. That show will scare you . If you want to see some pretty freaky stuff caught on video watch "Ghost Hunters" on the discovery channel. They are a team of paranormal investigators who try to find evidence of hauntings through only scientific means (as in no psychics or mediums). What they have uncovered in some instances is trully amazing.
i hate when people try to make ignorant comments like this because they've never experienced anything strange.
Ok thats fine if you don't believe in ghosts, i can understand why. But i can't stand when people say things like above. "People WANT to see ghosts so their minds MAKE the image" yes you're speaking facts aren't you? and you know about it all?
I'm saying what my opinion is on the matter.
I have seen many things strange, not out-of-this-world mind you, but still weird.
I just believe ghosts are either made from imagination, or are made from the computer.
As for older pictures that show ghosts, I have no explanation for that.
I think everyone has experienced something strange that could be linked to the paranormal. I have seen some weird things that i could not account to anything else except some kind of spiritual activity in my student house in salford manchester. Noises, things being thrown from shelves, being in the ouse by yourself and hearing people running up and down the stairs, feelings of someone in the room with you when there is no one there and doors opening and closing, often slamming by themselves with no wind. all together very creepy stuff. I didn't imagine any of it, i know with my own eyes what i saw and that convinces me what i saw was real

Producer's daughter: [enters] Hi mister. Thanks for fixing my doll.
[hugs him]
Larry: Aww, don't worry about it sweetheart.
Producer's daughter: [looks at him, scared, and runs out] Mommy, mommy. The old man's in the bathroom, and he's got something hard in his pants.

I don't understand why we talk about ghosts, for the answer that we all know is that we don't know the answer. It just can't be found, so why bother? Just live your life, without caring about them.
more important, do you believe John Edwards can talk to ghosts?![]()
They don't exist and anybody who believes those shows about ghost hunting seriously need to visit a doctor.
I for one could make my own show about Ghost Hunting right now. All I need is somebody to open doors randomly and drop cups while I run around screaming with my camera set to night vision
