Can't Play EB

Well, I just got re-interested in EB again recently, after my disappointment at not being able to resume my Roman Campaign, when I stuck a new problem... My EB game stopped responding on the loading screen! So after trying out different ways to fix it and reading forums I just decided to un-install and re-install... still it didn't work. Then I had the same problem with Empire, Napoleon, and Shogun... I eventually found the problem was my Graphics Card was out of date, so I put it up to date! My Empire and Napoleon problems were fixed!...but my EB one persisted. (Shogun sadly doesn't work still, it has the exact same problem as EB!)

I thought that my Setup files may not be working anymore, so I got some new ones from different sources. I couldn't get the same one from the EB website anymore because apparently lots of the download links were closed. But these did not work either. I was beginning to get frustrated. Now I get a new problem! When I try to launch it is says something about Windows looking for a TrivialScript and not being able to find it... I'm wondering what the TrivialScript has to do with anything since all it does is install EB v1.2 for me.

My Trivial Script is located on my Desktop, so I link it to there.. but now whenever I try to launch Single/Multiplayer/Preferences/Configuration they all just load up the 1.2 Setup, and do nothing else. I then try to re-install the game in my Programs folder, same problem. So, I'm at a complete loss for solutions and overwhelmed with multiple problems that I have yet to find anyone else with. If I could get any help on how to fix this it would be much appreciated.

EB takes long to load, how long did you wait before you terminated the process? For older systems, ~10 minutes could be expected.

Concerning the starting problem, create a new shortcut to Rome-TW.exe and edit the target line by adding -mod:eb -show_err -ne -nm to its end.

Well, mine usually loaded in about 5-25 seconds. The first time it wasn't working I waited for around a minute, which was unusual in itself. Whenever I open Task Manager though it says it is not responding.

No, none of the shortcuts work.

The I'd do a complete re-installation of both RTW and EB, follow How to install EB.
Don't install RTW and EB into Program Files while using Vista/Win7.
