See if you can defeat this battle setup, it is an old one that occured during one of my campaigns as the Saxons. And I am serious, this battle did happen, and I won it. I got the idea from this thread http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=48535
OK, here it is. Note that I used BI 1.6, unmodded, but you can try it with other mods if you like.
- Settlement Barbarian culture, Stone wall. For the realistic settings make it winter, midday, hazy conditions.
- Armies
-Saxons: one silver chevron and all silver for all Saxon units
- 1 Saxon Sea Riader cavalry, 4 levy spearmen, 4 Saxon Keel, 2 Hunters
- Lombardii: no exp at all
- 1 General, 4 Horde Chosen Swordsmen (I think that is what they are called), 8 Horde Spearmen (or whatever they are, the really crappy horde guys I think they are spearmen) and 3 horde cavalry. Plus give these guys one ram, one ladder and one tower. This is the only Siege equipment avavlible to them.
- Lombardii: no exp at all
- 2 General, 3 Hunters, 6 Horde Spearmen, 3 peasants, NO siege equipment
- Lombardii: No exp at all
- 1 General, 1 Hunters, 3 Horde Spearmen, 6 Horde Cavalry, , NO siege equipment
I have in fact taken away a few units from the Burgundii to make it slightly easier for anyone who wants to try this. This battle occured in a campaign after I took the last Lombardi town, their capital, Campus Lombardi. Their hordes (3 total) attacked me wiith one ram, tower and ladder and through skill and my mens bravery I managed a VERY close Victory. Post any comments and results, and just so you know I may change a few settings, but not for a while. Enjoy...
