So in the spirit of October and Halloween, I've decided to pause the book I was reading in favor of a more creepy "seasonal" novel.

I went to my local library and picked up "The Shining", so far I am about 45 pages in and it seems a little slow to me. I know it's "only 45 pages dude, don't quit that easy!" but I don't want to go through 400 some odd pages of retina-tearing font if there is a better book I could be reading.

So yeah, any suggestions of the suspense/horror/mind-f__k genre I could read?

Google searching has made me interested in "House of Leaves" but it doesn't look like they have it in any of the libraries out by me.

May I suggest a couple horror story concept albums?

Ghosts, a demon fetus, seven dark riders...

A psychotic grandmother, mysterious voices, bloody tea...

The best part is that you can listen to them on the go!

Probably ''Frankenstein'' by Mary Shelley & ''Only a witch can fly'' by Alison McGhee (wow I haven't forgotten the names) would be a fair treat enough, though I don't celebrate Halloween... I read these two when I was a kid, and I still feel like a kid at heart whenever I read them every now & then lol.
