    Default Karthadist Reform

    I have always been a bit confused about reforms. NO...not how to achieve them, the FAQs has the answers, but what units you actually get as a result of the reforms. Its pretty clear for the Romans and I think the "Cataphract Reform" for Arche Seleukeia is a pretty good clue, but its not clear for some of the others.

    I had assumed that in the case of Karthadast that the "March of Time" reform would let you recruit Heavy Libyan Spearman and Liby-Phoenician Heavy Infantry. Whilst the factional reform, likely to occur later, would allow recruiting of Iberian Assault Infantry and Elite African Infantry. WRONG!

    I have just achieved the factional reform (5 x level 5 regional MICs etc.) in my current campaign and got all four new unit types as recruitable options. Its 215BC but Rome has had Huge Cities in Capua and Arretium for nearly a decade and this "March of Time" had no effect on my Karthadast units.

    Presumably my experience is the same as other players of Karthadastim? Does anyone have a definitive list of units linked to the variuos reforms for other factions?

    The Libyan Heavy Spearmen, Iberian Assault Infantry, Elite African Infantry and the Liby-Phoenician Heavy Infantry are unlocked via the Carthaginian Reforms. They get no benefit from the March of Time, IIRC. I don't believe that any other units are unlocked via the Reforms.
    I beat back their first attack with ease. Properly employed, E's can be very deadly, deadlier even than P's and Z's, though they're not as lethal as Paula Abdul or Right Said Fred.

    The only units that the "March of Time" allows for are the new, "Late Era", generals' bodyguards for some factions (Pontos, Saka Rauka, Armenia, Parthia and Baktria), a heavy phalanx for the Macedonians, another kind of hoplite for the KH, and the Liburnae ship for SPQR.
    All the other units that appear during the campaign gameplay are triggered via the several factional reforms.

    Which one? I know the KH get access to the Greek Phalanx via the March of Time, but I thought they had access to all their Hoplites from the beginning.

    Oops, my bad , it's indeed the Greek Phalanx.

    There's no new kind of hoplites for KH after March of Time. Just that sexy Phalanx (at last!).

    Can't you play all factions and see for yourself what exactly they get? ;-)
