Both parties now know how much Income they're getting and have a few issues to debate between themselves.
A few seconds in paint, I'm pro.
IncomeSpoiler Alert, click show to read:Most important issue first, Farm Income. As the majority of Italia is now controlled by a neutral third party all Senators will still be able to receive income, although it will be significantly reduced. Instead of a base 5,000 value the base value is now 3,700 and this will get worse as the war drags on. All harvests are considered to be bad and if your previously moved your slaves off of your farms then you've lost them entirely for the next turn as well as this one.
All incomes will have a 10% tarriff applied to them by the Senate in Rome (you what now?) and will be subject to a variety of rolls to determine whether they reach your position in full or at all. Every person wishing to collect income MUST PM me, anybody collecting income without PMing me will be considered to have "cheated" and will dramatically affect their faction. This rule also applies to neutral Senators and myself, AA will do my roll if I want it done.
So to summarise. As long as the war continues you must PM the game moderator to collect income from your farm and all purchases must go through me.
Trade
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:Egypt and Numidia have both closed their ports, Egypt doesn't wish to be seen to favour either side and Numidia closed theirs based on a Treaty signed with the Carthiginian Republic.
- You may not Trade with ports controlled by your opposing faction.
- You may Trade between ports within your faction, this will adversely affect trade values which I will updating each day.
- You may impose a trade tariff on your ports.
- To trade PM a game moderator, the result can be hidden from your opponents at your discretion with a roll.
- Trading will be subject to privateering by both sides.
- Income and slaves received from Trade will not come into effect until the next income turn, any violations of this will be looked upon with displeasure.
The World
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:Ptolemaic - Numidian War
Tensions had been building between both these powers for years, they came to a head when a Numidian plot to frame Rome for an assassination fell apart and was revealed. Currently the Egyptians are making good gains while the Numidians are scrambling in response.
I'll be doing periodic rolls about this one, if players want to get involved they can PM me.
The Carthaginian RepublicThough relations with the Numidians were hostile at best, after the botched assassination ploy Jurgurtha offered them a peace treaty. With the qualifier that they would use their rich lands to supply him in his war against Egypt. They agreed with the condition that Jurgurtha cease supporting either Roman side, though they have lingering doubts about his sincerity they have confirmed that his ports are closed to Roman ships.
Trouble on the Borders
Several nations and tribes are choosing to use Romes division to make their moves, thus far it is unclear how this situation will resolve itself.
Italian Neutrality
Abandoned by both sides in this war an interim Senate has taken control of most of Italia, backed up by an unknown number of legions, consisting of veteran and green recruits, and bolstered by refugees flooding into the heart of the Republic.
They trust neither side, the Severians perhaps less than the Corvans, and have declared that once the the war is concluded they would accept the return of either side to Rome to rule as an elected Senate but they have a few conditions.
- No army, Severian or Corvan, is to set foot within any territory controlled by the Senate of Rome. Any such action will be seen as a declaration of war and will result in them siding with the opposing force.
- The farms and estates of the various Senators will be maintained by the Senate of Rome and will have a tariff applied to them.
- In the event of invasion by a foreign power both sides are required to provide a legion to defend Rome, to be controlled by the Senate of Rome.
- There is to be no hostile naval action taken in the Tyrrhenian Sea and the ports of Ostia and Capua are to remain free of military ships from either side..
- They are preparing a list of reforms, which must be accepted by both parties for them to remain neutral.
