    Default Spawning Characters

    I have been trying to do this for some time now so I have my doubts on it's possibility but here it goes.

    My question : Is it possible to spawn a character via script to the location of another character? Like the create_unit command.

    This last hurdle is making me rage

    Nope. spawn_character and spawn_army..character both take x,y coordinates as parameters, not character/settlement names.

    Unfortunately TW modding is full of "last hurdles". So many great ideas abandoned due to the engine/language not providing one link in the chain. That's life.

    Hurdles: I just found out I can't spawn slave navies (pirates). 'Named character' and 'general' works fine, just not 'admiral'.

    Works:

    monitor_event FactionTurnStart FactionIsLocal
            spawn_army
            faction england
            character    random_name, admiral, age 33, x 111, y 147
                    unit    carrack    exp 1 armour 0 weapon_lvl 0
            end    
    end_monitor
    Doesn't work:

            faction slave, sub_faction england

    Ouch! I got one of those nice "Uh oh, not good" errors. I thought that it might be because carrack does not have slave ownership. But using "pirate ship" had the same result.

    This works, using the spawn-from-hidden-faction method...

    Code:
    faction_emerge spawnpool spawnpool 1 85.0 100.0 1.2 town false spawnpool_leader1 spA 30
    spawn_army
      faction spawnpool
      character  random_name, admiral, age 18, x 102 y 141
      unit pirate ship	exp 0 armour 0 weapon_lvl 0

    give_everything_to_faction spawnpool slave false
    ...so long as the ship type belongs to the slave faction.
