    Default Garrisons and Capital cities

Maybe I have the wrong idea but here goes.

I'm currently playing a Roman 0-turn campaign H/H (only force diplomacy as a sub mod). It is my understanding that whenever you lay siege to a capital city, an enemy army is spawned and supposed to attack the besieging army to try and recapture the city.

I have been playing the campaign for a while. I first thought it was strange that the army didn't spawn when i conquered Carthage but then I imagined that it was because I took the city in a single turn by engaging an army and it's garrison and destroying it (yes I know, it's an exploit, but then again it is Carthage and they don't deserve better ).

Later I came across the same thing with Sparta (no walls so again, single turn conquest). After the city fell, no garrison showed up.

A little after that, I'm invading the Arverni and laying siege to their capital at Gergovia. I kept one army laying siege to the city and a second army in an ambush nearby, hoping the spawned army would show up somewhere in the area.

2 turns later the war is over with no Gauls to be seen near the capital (which did not fall).

I always make sure the script is running, and in previous games (both Roman and other factions) I've had to fight those spawned armies but now it appears they won't show up anymore.

    Is there something I'm missing?

There is no garrison script by default in RS 2.1a

There are some sub mods that implement a garrison script. But there is none by default

It's not the garrison script, but there are supposed to be scripted armies that appear at the conquest of certain cities. Seems strange especially as it has happened but now isn't. The usual explanation would be forgetting to start the script in at least one save. Autosave or manual saves?

Oh, what do you mean by forced diplomacy sub-mod? it is already part of the mod and you shouldn't need to add it in.

It's already apart of the mod

My bad, I forgot it was already included, I might have been thinking of RS 1.6

As to the scripted garrisons. I'm doing manual saves, in fact I create a new file each time i add a new provice to the empire. The wierd thing as you say, is that they armies have appeared before. The script is most definitely running. One thing I noticed is that sometimes after ending a turn I get a notification the script is not running (despite having played well over 5 turns with the script activated). I'm pretty sure it didn't come up while sieging Gergovia though.

I'll get back to you with a bit more info in a few days.

Oh definitely get a screenshot if you get a notification it isn't running when it had been. There is no way it should just stop and that will need looking into.
