Default CTD when loading the game

    Hi there,

I have problems starting 6.4... The loading screen shows, and then CTD :-(

I have done the UAC thing (step 3) to the folder, that didn't help.

Any help would be greatly appreaciated :-)

I had the same problem when I patched up to 6.4. When I disabled the UAC after installing 6.3 and before patching up to 6.4 (rather than before installing 6.3), it fixed the problem. Try uninstalling, reinstalling 6.3, disabling the UAC, and then patching up to 6.4. Make sure you run the setups as admin.

Edit: I think the reason for this is because when you disable the UAC, it does it for Medieval 2 and all of its subfolders. But if you disable the UAC before installing 6.3, the SS subfolder doesn't exist yet. So if you disable the UAC and then install SS 6.3, all the subfolders in your Medieval 2 folder will have the UAC disabled EXCEPT the SS folder, which is what you need. Also, I'm not 100% sure if this is the reason why it worked for me, but it seems to make sense.

YEAH, it worked... I can't tell, whether it was the installation "order" suggested by Kevindrosario or the fact, that I hadn't deleted the "ghost" directory made before I did the UAC fix under C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files...

    Anyway, it works now
