It would be a nice addition if the background loading screen would be faction congruent: playing as the Julii, the screen is red, as Egypt gold and so forth. Otherwise I'm fine with 'generic' red.

Why just change the color? Red is where it's at. If you're going to edit the loading screens, create something new entirely.
